Just had a phone call from the CPSA asking why I had not renewed and also asking if it was something they had done wrong?  Is it normal for them to chase you up with a phone call?

Just heard Phil Tuffnell (former England cricketer) talking about his love of clay shooting and that he goes often. He mentioned it after a discussion about eyesight/eye dominance in batting.  Good to hear ex sports people publicly discussing clay shooting.

Probably been asked before but just wondering if you have to be a CPSA member to shoot reg comps or can you just turn up and shoot birds only as practice? Reason I ask is that I let my membership lapse last year and I'm due for knee surgery soon which will prevent me shooting for 3-6 months...

Just been for a gun fitting with Nigel after seeing recommendations on the the internet and also because he is only 30 mins away from me. Excellent bloke and was really helpful. Stock (length of pull??) was too long and it needed some cast. He also gave me some really good advice about my gun...

Can anyone recommened a good coach for a total beginner (mother in law) in the Warwickshire area? She doesn't want to travel too far (lives in Kenilworth) and has only had a taster session but wants to have a proper lesson before she decides if shooting is for her.

Just had first proper lesson and loved it. Apparently I managed to hit 85% and well chuffed. It is defo the sport for me.

First proper 1-2-1 lesson tomorrow morning. Had a go before but was in a group and no real coaching (managed to break quite a few clays though but think it was beginners luck). Any advice for a newbie would be appreciated.
