Is shot string a myth? Shurly the speed of the shot leaving the barrels (measured in miliseconds) has long gone before any swing could influence the pattern? I believe that the "hosepipe effect" does not exist, and is a common fallacy.

Has anyone used Eley Olympic Blues with fibre wads lately, do they cause excessive leading in the barrels? They used to but l think they aren't so bad now, and I'd like to use them again. o 

Watched a guy walk off the stand, and into the crowd with a loaded auto at the weekend! Challenged him he was completely oblivious,  It was at a very well run shoot too. Moral of the story you can never completely relax with a shotgun, for the sake of safety and our sport. 

7 months ago I ordered a 1/2 choke for my Browning 725 Sporter, wanting to try 1/2 and 1/2 for sporting. After a while began noticing the top barrel was smoking more clays than the bottom, but clearly marked 1/2 choke for lead and 3/4 for steel, Recently had the oportunity to check the patterns...

I'm currently looking for a reasonably priced cartridge, tried Hull Superfast Fibre today, and pleasantly surprised, reasonable recoil, fast with good kills no (chips), and clean with minimal leading. They have gone to the top of my list now, to replace Eley Blues no longer made.

Sould you take your chokes out of the barrels whilst travelling in a jet? Could they be damaged by changing atmospheric pressure, or expansion and contraction of dissimilar metals? It was suggested in a video I watched, any opinions? I'm taking mine out whilst travelling abroad, just to be sure.

Can anyone tell me if independently made choke tubes, are better than those supplied by say Browning, Beretta, Perazzi etc, or is it just "smoke and mirrors?" Does those extra shiny bits poking out the end of your barrels make a difference, or is it all in the mind?

Ok i'm convinced some people can tell the differenence in the speed of various cartridges compared to others, as you can with "lock time!" I had a Perazzi MX3 once with leaf springs producing very crisp trigger pulls, it seemed you just had to think about pulling the trigger and the shot was on...

I was standing behind a shooter today, and was amazed how the clay seemed to break instantly, compared to previous shooters using different ammo. He was using Fiocchi Black Sporting, it was the instant the report the clay broke! Has anyone else noticed this, or was I just imagine it!
