Jeeeezzz. Dear aren't they! Mine was £7,250 NEW in 2007. £13k now?
Can beat you there Clever, paid £6495 for mine in the same year. It was from Litts though...

Only popped in to pick up some shells.

It's a cracking gun OP, unfortunately getting pretty pricey these days.

I've got both an MX8 and an MX2000s, one usually has v springs and the other coils. I can't tell the difference between them in terms of trigger crispness although the non drop out trigger found on the 2000s usually rules out the possibility of the cracked stocks that are quite commonplace with the mx8.

The 2000s is indeed a lovely gun and is the one which I now shoot most regularly. Prices new are between £7500 and £8000. A lightly used well looked after model probably somewhere around the £5k+mark if bought privately.

As for problems, watch out for barrel pitting as Perazzi barrels are very prone to pitting if they have not been cared for properly largely due to their not being chrome lined. Bores can be re-polished for not too much dosh.

Not chrome lined?   :pinch:
No they're not although I think that the later ones might be. The chambers are normally chromed. Pitting can be a real problem on older models. My MX 8 ,which I think you've shot Hamid, was quite badly pitted when I bought it although this was soon put right by Tim Greenwood.

The main reason that they didn't chrome line them was because this makes them much easier to repair if there is any damage to them. Obviously as they are a top competition gun they are liable to get the odd knock. It also makes it easier to carry out any choke work as most of them are imported with fixed chokes which are usually tight.

Had mine 7 years ago from litts and paid 4.5k for it and that included a trip to the factory to get a custom made stock. I've recently had it serviced and all thats  needed replacing were a couple of springs and the firing pins.

Try calling Jonathon at Mid Wales shooting ground, see what he's offering. For 7.5k I'd expect a trip to Italy to sort the stock out

L0L  would have probably been better invested in a B25 :)
I use B25 for everything but trap. Glad I was at Hodnet yesterday and not today

Back in 2000 mine cost £1750 new with an adjustable comb and a full set of chokes, prolly worth £1400 now. Luckily it has chromed barrels and is on original set of strikers after 140k+ rounds and no split wood issues or pitting either. The only negative is it's made by Beretta.

nice a D4 is it?

probably the nicest shape trigger ever made.

my old chap had a custom D5G which was a pretty thing started life as an A1 standard but went back over to browning to be engraved / wood upgraded

Was a brilliant deal, although probably the most expensive 1000 shells I'll ever buy . At the time I was shooting an MX8 that I had bought from them 5 years prior for £3500. I enjoyed going over to Newport and got on pretty well with the guys in the shop, even if they were always rude to me ha ha.

Mal said he had something for me, brought out a gun that was still wrapped in it's packing and said he'd do me a deal there and then. He knew that I had promised to buy myself an SC3 for my fortieth.

Told me the price and offered to give me £3000 trade in for the (as then unseen) MX8. No way I could turn it down. I've done pretty well on Perazzis, the first MX8 I owned I paid £1000 for and subsequently sold on for £1500. Unfortunately, like LItts, those days are long gone.

Regards

I've never encountered the pitting rap over here.  Never seen one either.  There are some pretty crappy climates here in the States too so maybe shooters here are just more conscientious about cleaning.

Certainly not a problem I have to expect w/ my guns.

Fred I envy you!!!! Firstly because that is such a nice B25 and secondly because you can use a Browning or a Perazzi, I have had trouble shooting Perazzi's as you know, even though I love the things!!! How come you shoot Perazzi for Trap and B25 for other stuff Fred?
