Gun sleeve got damp and I left my gun in it for a short while (didn't realise sleeve was damp) now got a bloom of little marks near the end of the barrels anyone know no tricks for sorting it or should I just get them re blued?

  If you can afford a Krieghoff ? whats a spare pair of barrels to a man like you? :fie:

Guru don't need new barrels I was asking if anyone had any tricks for removing bloom or is rebluing the only way?

rust bloomDefinition

Discoloration of a surface finish indicating the early stages of rust.

Autosol & a drop of kurust   Sorted ;)

To get rid you need to cut out the affected  back to good metal then weld a new bit in...  it must be a continuous weld, not tacked

& I'd recommend a good gloss topcoat to cover everything

Halfords have a 3 for 2 sale on at the mo i think

:santa: x

Well that lot were great help.

TD no help as well as Chippy / me.

But he doesn't get mentioned. He started me orrff again.

Sorry.

You can buy cold blue for just such repairs. Follow instructions on it.

Always pays to take spare dry slip on wet days.

If it won't clean up with a bit of gun oil or WD40 and some elbow grease, then take it to a gunsmith and let him sort it!
