well congratulations  to all  ,  especially  steve brightwell    ( good training at orston )    superb performance ..     but  I really feel  only 5 shooters  should have been in the shoot off  on    merit  .

So if you entered the open on targets only and got through to the final day on Sunday and came 4th in your class, does that mean you are not entitled to the prize money and people below get bumped up?

Yes, birds only means you are not entitled to any of the prize money paid in, only sponsors money, prizes and medals.

Just because you shot on finals day I wouldn't bank on being in the money either. Cash will probably revert back to the class scores.
