    S/G's in Kent

Calling all Kentish shooters; I have a friend who lives in Chatham and wants to have a go at clay shooting.  I've offered to take her to a ground not far from home, so I need the info guys, please. It needs to be open on a Saturday, allow newbies to shoot with a SGC holder, and to be quite...

    Shooting hand pain

OK, so something odd has happened to my right hand (keep the jokes to yourselves please!). I had 3 weeks off shooting - which is very unusual for me, then went and shot 200 or so at OLSS yesterday.  All was fine until yesterday evening, when I began to feel  some pain in my hand, and it's...

Advice on shooting grounds around Bedford

Guys and gals, Long story short, I have a good friend in Bedford who wants to try clays.  I've offered to take him, and he found a ground that used to be called Broomhills (I think). Does anyone know it?  If so, can I take him to shoot with my guns or will we need a caddy/instructor? Also, is...

    CPSA site classifications are wrong...

OK, so a bunch of us shot 4C's on Sunday, and the results on the CPSA website for that shoot are showing a lot of incorrect classifications.  The scores are right, but the classifications are wrong.  Anyone have any ideas?

A story to warm the cockles...

A story worth sharing… I’ve put a lot of shells through my gun over the last 18 months or so, which has resulted in a bit of wear.  Specifically, the top lever lock is quite worn (I discovered today) and my gun dropped open a couple of times after the second shot – this was last weekend.  I...

    Ed Ling, 200 straight!

I vaguely remember seeing something earlier about Ed Ling in the European OT, but can't find it now!  However, he did shoot a record 200 straight!  Awesome shooting, and massive congratulations!  Apparently his younger brother, Theo, shot like a pro too! (If any of you tarpies can find it, I'd...

    Upavon, 5th May

Turned up early for tea and pig, and met Robo, Tiptop and young Tom. Nice mixture of targets again, a few battues and chondelles mixed in with fast crossers, a few dollys and rabbits - had a good time, although I dropped far too many silly ones, as usual!  Funny how you always tell yourself to...

    The funeral

The Funeral Procession A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse...

    Two girls...

Two girls are on their way home after a night out.  They're a bit drunk and need a pee, so they decide to go into a graveyard to relieve themselves. As there's no paper, one girl used her knickers whilst the other one grabbed a ribbon from a wreath. The next day their husbands were talking...

    Podimore, 06.01.13

So, arranged to meet a mate at Podimore at 1pm today to shoot 100 ESP registered.  The web-site shows shooting times as 10am to 2pm.  Never shot here before, so thought I'd try a new ground. Set out just after 11.00, arrived there just after 12.30.  Wandered into the clubhouse (first thought...

    Shooting without a SGC

A question for the knowledgeable; I have a mate who doesn't have a SGC, but is invited to a game shoot by his friend, whose Dad owns the land.  Is my mate able to shoot under supervision with a loaned gun?  Private shoot, private land, invitation only.  I know shooting grounds need a concession...

    Wylye 9th December

Me and Jem sped off to Wylye after Weston Wood, got there in plenty of time.  Another good set-up, speed, angle and target variations.  Caught me out a couple of times, same old same old!!!  Hit the first 3 pairs, then drop the last pair...  :yell:    Had another chance to break the 80% barrier...

    Lead Shot (ban?)

Now then, I know this thread was amply covered some weeks and months ago, but I just want to share a couple of e-mails that I received this week from MEPs following the standard e-mail a lot of us sent months ago... there's nothing like having your finger on the pulse and keeping up to date with...

    Weston Wood 21st October

Made an early pop to WW this morning, met up with Robo and his old man. Good to meet Clever at long last! This one left me a tad confused today. There were a few stands that needed some thought, but I must have left my thought head at home! A day of "on 'em, off 'em, back on 'em...
