My local dealer has just got a consignment from a company called Trust Eibarres in Spain. Prices look good eg 28g Sporting 8's (2.25mm) at £149 per 1000.

Anyone any experience of this company? Apparently they are long established but I'd never heard of them before.

I bought a slab of the 8's so I'll report back as to how I get on with them.

They have a web site www.trust-eibarres.com

Interesting web site! You have the choice between Spanish and pigeon English. Some very odd loads such as 36g Sporting offered in multiple sizes including 10 shot  , what's that for? Also appear to think someone's after 32g shot size 11  . They don't list shot size 8 for Sporting though so yours must be a special UK only offering? It would be interesting to see how they perform as well as their clay shots antimony content.

Was talking about this earlier, how the greeks like 36g of real tiny shot for their live shooting, seem to think a wall of lead through a tight choke is better. Mind when I told them we shoot out to 60 odd yrds they were amazed, anything further out than 20 odd yrds and its too far. Tried to educate them into trying 30 or 32g of 6 or 7 shot but they werent having any of it :.:

I can only guess that if you wanted to shoot a lot of small birds with an open choke - 36g 11's would not be a bad load!!!!

I also noticed that 8's sporting was missing on their chart, I just assumed they meant 7 1/2- 9's.

According to their shot size chart their 8's are 2.25 mm whereas I believe English 8's are 2.2 mm so if English 7 1/2's are 2.28 mm then their 8's are equivalent to c. 7 3/4 English, which could make for a good all round shot size.

Anyway "proof of the pudding etc"

Yes I agree, their 7 3/4 (our 8) should prove to be a good load. They also list a few Dispersantes :) , Scatterer loads :p , I've never been able to get hold of meaningful data on these even on USA shooting forums. It would be good to know if for instance they can help avoid having to choke down for rabbit or very close grouse type stands. If anyone can get hold of any I'd be happy to go halves on the cost (Clever/Fuz?) to have a play.

could have done with a few for the bloody rat today

JC's are stocking trust cartridge's but not at £149, £157.50/1000 now there's a supprise £8 dearer.

.

Finally got around to trying out the 28gm Trust Sorting 8's.

Shot 20/25 on a tricky sportrap layout and 24/25 on dtl at Orston.

The shells performed perfectly well giving convincing kills on all types of targets.

Soft enough to shoot and excellent value at £149 per 1000
