The travel lodge at battlefield is only 10 - 15 minutes from hodnet, and it's on the A53, straight road to the ground, and you get a better class of thug in Shrewsbury

The Bear Inn at Hodnet is very good for food and drink ! Only small but completely worth it.

There are numerous good accommodation venues within easy travelling distance of Hodnet, many in Shrewsbury and surrounding areas, Telford has at least six very large hotels . Premier Inn have a number of very nice venues at  Shrewsbury, Newport and Harmer Hill we also have a number of sites for you Southern and East Anglian Travellers , I can supply hay.

What about muxton?

If your in the premier Inn at Muxton, it's fine.  There's a pub, chippy, McD's and petrol station, probably 30 min drive to the shooting ground.
