If its a £20-£25 increase thats around 6% on £300/1000 28g cartridge ( and that £300 is hard to find ) not as much as some feared.
Recoil is subjective / unique to each individual and there are lots of variables, me Im 60+, 6ft, sub 13st with a sub 8lb MK38 and bar a few 28gm White Golds which I did think kicked a bit, will happily use any cartridge, those “obnoxious” Hull Sovereigns I found very pleasant to use.
Have some B&Ps in 24g at mo, cant say Ive noticed any noticeable difference recoil wise and in 7.5 shot size the breaks, even from I seemed decent enough.
As we can still use 28g in competition most of us will still do so, if load gets pushed down then at 24 or even 21g most of us just simply get on with it and hardly notice any difference.
As for cost, any drop in load wont offer a comparable drop in price of any cartridge, the cost of the load element of cartridge yes or rather will be / is for the manufacturer, how much or if all that filters through lord knows.
The sellers of cartridges, if the margin is £50/1000 I can see why its not really attractive proposition for a start up, the sheer volume you need to stock, even with a single brand ties up a lot of cash, let alone all the other costs needed for running a selling cartridge business.

Problem is unless you've suffered from recoil you couldn't understand how any one could have this problem as they say ignorance is bliss!!
I’ve taught 100s of people with recoil issues and managed to fix everyone of them. I would say the ignorance is believing you have to put up with it

We sell Fiocchi and I would have to sell those at £270 so unless old stock or Fiocchi have vastly different prices for other people then they are selling at a loss!

People only have a limited budget so when prices increase they shoot less,look at the numbers attending registered shoots ?
I wouldn’t, my nearest ground is a 120 mile round trip and to just shoot 50 targets isn’t worth the effort

I think this is like assuming restaurants would increase trade if they offered half portions for a discount. The amount of food eaten / clays shot is only a small part of the total overhead to the restaurant / shooting ground, so it doesn’t save costs pro rata just from reducing what is consumed.
Some offer OAP and kids portions at the local fish and chip shop so must be advantages to do so.

Anyone use these over there? www.shockmaster.com/home-ad.html. With inexpensive 1 oz loads a 12 g recoils no more than an air rifle.

Sorry, yes, to clarify, I’m assuming that the business would ONLY be offering the small cheap portion. Not add it as a loss leader to get a wider appeal.

Maybe been a few less over the winter period but generally still very busy in East Anglia, judging by the cars in the car parks, most not feeling the pinch
It's not hard to find out. A ground could easily run a 50 or 75 bird along side the 100 to test the take up. My local ground does this offering 60 80 or 100 targets. Shot over the same course. Even easier with reg because you have refs to manage it at the stands.
Bet no ground tries it though.
