Think (from reply to other thread) its Hertfordshire, the North Pole bit seem to accurately describe said county as a barren wasteland, seems displaying or not displaying basic stuff like where one lives is gathering momentum, don't help those that can giving advice at times though

Im in West sussex 
My closest clubs are Chichester / Midhurst / Fareham etc then there is Southdown going the other way
just for the record guys, where do you think Santa lives (remember i have a list .)

You know given your special requirements it may be a very good idea for you to buy a really good second hand gun. If you are going to have to have the stock altered and need an adjustable comb, good idea anyway IMO, you may have trouble selling the short stocked gun should you want to get a better grade of gun. If you buy, say, a 682 as suggested by Hamster then you have a really nice gun that will last all of your shooting life.Been using Guntrader & Gunstar....
Plenty of GD1 Mk 38's
But narrow it down to 30" - Adjustable comb & 14 /14 stock, and the pickings become thin on the ground
Trouble is, i need a high comb, a standard trap stock wont work,
a longer stock length is OK but would need cutting down for me to get to the trigger
(and its got to be from a dealer ) - credit card payment to cover any issues

Santa...go and try the MK38 and the other......see which you like and them buy it.
It does not matter that it is a grade 1 .....you can enjoy not worrying about bashing a fancy stock.....then if you are enjoying the gun....you can have a stock and fore end made in better wood and with an adjustable stock.....loads of places do this.
If you buy the grade 1 and it is too short ....cut it down so 'you' can use it......it can always be extended again by a good woodman.
Don't worry about all the 'what if you sell it' comments you may hear......or you will never get a gun.

Your narrowing your search too much with the stock length on guntrader, leave it blank and then have it shortened to suit after or part of the purchase. It'll open up loads of options for you.
And owning a 682 for life would be naff because of what ? Sorry I humbly disagree with all the above from the point of view of you could get any gun and have fancy wood fitted if you want. This man has requirements and sounds as though he is working to a budget, which extrapolating further sounds to me like the last thing he needs to do is throw good money after bad. My suggestion is merely for him to get a good second hand gun to start with and then there will be no need for a change later on. Also try reading and interpreting a post before wading in, I said "say" as Hamster suggests implying that it is merely a suggestion not a definitive! Secondly don't worry about "what if you want to sell it at a later date" but DO think about this because you may want to and, regardless of what madam has to say, it is an important point.
Southdown has an onsite shop and Hayward guns is not to far away, you can even try onsite as it has a few traps outside the shop...for what its worth (tin hat on) I bought a second hand adjustable 682 golde 13 years ago, never had a single problem. Just had the wood refinished and was offered what I paid for it originally..p.s. Dont upset the Miroku owners they are wild..

I think in 30 years of shooting I've had a broken firing pin on a Remington a broken ejector on a Browning a broken extractor claw on a Beretta 390 and several issues with a Beretta UGB 25 and that's it. Shooting every weekend and I'm certainly no 'mr maintenance ' around guns. Have I been fortunate? or do guns just not go wrong that often?
I've had many new and second / third/ fourth hand guns and never really any issues with any of them, so I certainly wouldn't hesitate on a S/H purchase from a dealer or a private sale. Generally you'll find a much better quality gun S/H for the same money of a new gun that doesn't carry the same pedigree.

A very eminent scientist told me once if you want to get a really good CV profile choose a subject or discipline which is obscure or less popular than the mainstream that way you are far more likely to succeed. I think that is true for all things in life including shooting... true story!

If you had read mine without your own bitchy slant on it you would see that we both said the same thing.....which was buy the cheap gun. I am sorry if this comes as news to you, but you certainly do have an edge in some posts....(could you possibly explain post 32..?)

I think you need to take a few deep breaths, have a coffee and the read the whole lot again......and you will see that good advice has been given.
