So I managed a trip over into The Netherlands today for De Wildenberg's monthly 100 Compak Competition.
Didn't really know how I would perform today as it has been nearly a month since the last comp I shot there and since I picked up the gun.
I really think the layoffs inbetween are benefiting me at the moment not too long as to be to worried about doing well and long enough to be hungry for success.
Managed 22 on the first layout which I really thought was not hard at all but I missed one close rabbit which was a complete mismount which was unusual for me, although I did have my new jacket on so maybe it was that! ;-)
Second layout was tough a really fast trap bird another fast left to right midi crosser at about 50yrds which due to the speed made it tough.
A nasty mini which are always easy to miss and another good incomer high and a nice tower bird from over your left shoulder. All in all with the doubles presented was a tricky layout. I managed 23 on there so was well chuffed.
Next layout was another one of those where I felt a big score was there but couldn't produce it only 22 on this one this is the layout in the video attached.
There was only really a tricky battue because it was fast from right to left but apart from that I thought this layout was pretty much on par with the first not too difficult but I made it hard.
Last layout was probably the second toughest some nasty targets. Especially the incoming orange which was on a nasty background in the light then against the trees and dropping into the bank of the pond. From peg 1 it was nice straight at you and no issue, I was starting from Peg 4 though :-( so from here it was more right to left and nasty. Shot this layout well starighted it 25 which to be honest felt awful probably 4 second barrels on singles which was a little iffy! Anyway managed 92 ex 100 and won the shoot by 1 target. Was happy with my finish was nice to know I went to the last layout needing a score and I produced so I was over the moon! That's 3 shoots in 2012 and 3 wins so keep my fingers crossed I keep it going!
Can't wait until the next one!!
