    Coleys Fitasc 23/08

Good afternoon of Fitasc today at Coleys. Layout 3 I messed up but overall happy with my shooting. Shot 50 then 30 mins break and then 50. Good varied targets with some biggies. Bonus seeing my brother Bryn during our break.

How does our classification system work?

Someone explain how our classification system works please.  Can you really not shoot registered shoots for a couple of years and become unclassified again.

    RIP Hamid Hajilou

Yesterday I was shocked and deeply sad to find out that Hammie had passed away.  Flitting through Facebook as you do to see that Shaun Hopkins had put up a post.   I don’t know exactly when or how.   Lots of us on the circuit will have met Hammie and of course he was one for engaging on this...

    My first game shoot

As a few know I’m a prolific clay shooter but today I had my first experience behind the gun on a friend’s pheasant shoot.  I normally beat which I thoroughly enjoy.  Set in West Wales it is not a huge bag shoot and today there were 6 guns and four drives.  It was quite novel to hear our host...

    Lovely day beating West Wales

Just home from spending a lovely day beating in West Wales whilst Tony shot a friend’s pheasant shoot.  Always a good day and I really love watching the dogs work.  It’s not a big bag shoot, 6 guns and today the bag was 46.  Plenty of birds that flew in windy conditions and all the guns enjoyed...

    Choosing a fibre cartridge

It’s that time of year again when I buy my Hull Sovereign fibres to compete at the Beretta World.  I don’t have extensive knowledge or first hand experience of a variety of fibre cartridges so admit that I chose this one a few years ago as it was expensive.  My thought process was at the time it...

    Salopian

Salopian, I have thought about our little spat on here and I want to apologise for being mean.  It really isn't in my nature to be so and I am going to blame it on being quite unwell at the time and I was over sensitive and of course we all know written word is no replacement for face to face...

    Double discharge DT10 query

Posted 16 minutes ago Went to Bisley for a change today - pay and play at Long Siberia which was very enjoyable part from the three double discharges I had with my DT10.  Very disconcerting.  Each time it happened all on the same stand I gave my gun to Tony to fire off with no problems.  He...

    Rosehill Farm Pheasant Shoot

I’ve had a lovely day.  Travelled down to visit friends near Haverfordwest yesterday as Tony had been invited to shoot.   The weather was glorious and he enjoyed the day.   It’s a lovely place and the hospitality was superb.   I was a beater and really enjoyed it.  I took one of their “pet” dogs...

    Competition Prizes

I have enjoyed shooting the Honesberie Rizzini Competition series this being the third year and I thought I would look at the prizes this year as I have qualified.  Top prize for class and category a gun which is very generous but I notice the supposed Rizzini Ladies/Junior style gun Rizzini V3...

I have my eye on a gun

Well today I tried a DT10 30" barrels, a little too long in the stock and would need to have adjustable comb fitted as well but I really liked it.  I managed to hit some good targets with it as it is.   Mmmm.
