Any advice please on which insurance companies are best to contact for cover for the shotguns particularly when travelling to worldwide. Thanks

I just changed my home insurance and went with churchill, my gun and any other personal items are now covered inside and outside the home and it SAVED me £150 a year! worth seeing if you can add your guns to your contents insurance.

My guns aren't particularly valuable but wouldn't be able to replaced them if they were damaged etc covered on home insurance with halifax no extra cost as under £1500 each. MOre valuable; then you have them as named items i havent specifically looked at international cover or cover while in transit (outside of UK) but home insurer will be able to tell you.

They ought to be named items in the "All Risks" section of the policy as that should give cover for when away from home and even abroad.

Do your home policies include third party cover for shooting or do you rely on CPSA or BASC etc to cover this?

My NSRA insurance includes £5k off cover for the guns themselves as well as third party fire and theft and accidental damage.

I also have CPSA insurance but nothing in the home insurance.

Fully insured for everything. All risks. In / out of house. Full value.

Unless you have to, insure your gun on your home policy rather than a specialist insurer. It'll save you money.

Agree with all above, home policy easily the best cover at best rate for two £2.5K guns worldwide.
