can anyone give me a sensible answer as to why the ladies class in dubai is only 150 , really curios on this as it was on par as 200 last year

Women are paying the same to enter for fewer targets but we have a better chance of winning money. He's paying down to 40th place but only about 60 women shot it last year...

In fairness, it's not an uneducated view - it's correct for a significant number of Arab and Middle Eastern countries - just less applicable when looking at UAE, and in particular, the emirate of Dubai which is fairly liberal.

Actually most are liberal except Saudi...... and the likes of Afghanistan, Iran .....but this thread is about Dubai......so Guru's generalisation was exactly that.

Don't forget if we are talking about 2nd class.....then we need look no further than our own doorstep.....UK also has a lot to answer for in different ways.....women's pay scales for one..... :laugh:

The $ are just an added prize for those lucky enough to keep their head together whilst all around are losing theirs..... :laugh:

I'm with Nicola- you go for the challenge and it was great last year. It's disappointing that it's 150 not 200 but I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. It is clearly a nod to ISSF system.

And yes, Dubai is liberal - my brother and his fiancée live there in reasonable freedom - a hell of a lot more freedom that they'd get in other Arab countries. As for sharia law - they know which side their bread is buttered and they are not chopping off hands and flogging people as a matter of course. And remember, our American cousins practice the death penalty - which I think is pretty brutal!

I would think that the women shooters would flock to enter just to stuff the arabs viewpoint

and I'll pass on commenting on the rest as part of my program of being "just a lovely person".
