I think the swifts/swallows (can't remember which) that used to randomly fly out of trap houses at Southern Counties were a pain, usually just as you've called for the damn thing! As an aside - trying to service machines which were full of nests, eggs, bird crap and dead birds wasn't fun either...

In my experience on a Report Pair - if the second bird is broken on throwing and called as a "no bird" by the ref you have a repeat pair, first bird killed/established. So you call and shoot at the first bird (kill or loss doesn't matter) then your second shot (kill or loss) at a good report...

I've shot half and half in my sporters for years, same with shells - 24g 7s usually. The less i have to think about fiddling with chokes and cartridges the better so I can just enjoy the shooting. If I miss I know it's my fault and nothing else.

Wow, never seen one as bad as that! To be honest you're lucky to have one that throws a clay at all. Normally you would expect a clay to be thrown straight away from the trap if everything is set correctly. If it's spitting them to the left it's being dragged by the rubber, if it spits it up...

Bird (or target) again...two shots, intentionally miss with the first, attempt kill with second shot. Arse of a rule! Surely someone stepped in to make known the unintentional mistake?

I usually go with a medium grey tint for sporting, seems to give me better contrast. For trench I usually go with either the grey or a medium purple, depends on the light conditions and background. 

This has just reminded me to check that the chokes will come out of my Cynergy...maybe had half and half in there without taking them out for a few years!

Good luck to anyone who shot it yesterday...to say it was a little breezy in the valley whilst I was there is a little bit of an underestimation! Thankfully had a full harness to keep me attached to one of the towers whilst at the top :-)
