To be fair the semi is his pigeon/Beretta World gun and the Kemen is the love of his life but when needs must you go with what you have to hand.  As I said we've never had a problem using the semi anywhere.  You need me Les as I love picking up spent shells I get a sense of satisfaction out of it.  I could be your personal shell girl :)  My husband is the best for not worrying about what gun, what shell, what choke - it just does not bother him.
And he happens to be a good shot too :)

He made Hickstead look easy peasy last time we shot!

:santa:

Whilst ips is beside himself, could I just point out that other than owning a Browning Twelvette or a UGB25 [you wondered why it was designed?] it is unlikely that there are any ISSF eligible autos around.

9.4.2.4 Magazines

Guns with magazines must have the magazine blocked so that it is

not possible to put more than one (1) cartridge in the magazine
Fred if I remember correctly a Canadian guy won Olympic gold in the 1950's with Winchester pump?

George wouldn't do it now Les, pump action is specifically forbidden as well. I don't make the rules, I just read them.

Hang on a minute, am I to understand that there is actually a "reason" for the UGB things existence ?

Yes it has to be a 2-shot auto and the "break" action [even if the cartridge has disappeared down a funnel] relieves the auto shooter of unloading the gun between every shot at OT [it isn't sufficient to point it at the sky as you walk]. The ejection downwards instead of sideways is an improvement though by no means acceptable [imagine the pariah who considered ejecting shells over his shoulder these days]

So an Auto designed specifically for Trap Disciplines?

There is an enormous sense of Karma involved in knowing that.   :sarcastic:

It's still not the gun for me in any situation though.    (Yes, I have used one very briefly, and gave it back very swiftly!).

I see, kind of makes sense but there is no getting away from the fact that its

a . Horrible

b . Pointless

c . Only has one choke

d . Still litters the stand

i could go on but i fear reprisal from owners.

Ps

i have pictures of bywel weekend in 80s when ejection over the shoulder was the norm showing huge piles of cases all around. H and S issue re-trip hazard.

Bit like this one then

No forward cartridge bins at all. Stan Stock still has those sunglasses and the microphones look suspiciously like the ones we use every saturday. +Allan Jones, Barry Phillips, Jackie Stewart.

I think you are correct those are the same mics :)

Ah.. but at least no bins in front stops Mr frustrated on your left from making a racket when chucking in their empties when they miss.

Ejecting them over the shoulder is not PC but looks cool. I bet with modern slow mo cameras you could make it a spectator event.
