Excuse my ignorance, but what do these cartridges do that a fibre wad cartridge wouldn't do, or what is the difference between them?

Damned fine question. Every fibre is a piston wad surely?

Rule no 1 with cartridges is never assume they will do something because they are a certain type of wad, shot size or other feature. You have to pattern them and then try them on clays to see what they do.

No, a Fibre has no wad covering the lower 3rd of the shot to give you a center pattern which is consistent. also a Bior or piston wad seems open up much quicker.

Shot these at our plate yesterday through the same 1/2 choke barrel and at the same 35yds, they increased the pattern size by 40%.

At the moment West London Gun Room are the only ones with stock
