Have you tried moving the barrel selector and trying the trigger? 
Yes tried that.

I've noticed if I point it to the floor I can get the trigger to cock but if I lift it up, it comes loose. Is this normal?

If you just purchased it a trip back(hopefully not to far) to the seller if purchased new

Edit Anything loose in the forend metalwork

Think I've found the problem but not sure why it's happened. I've found this video on TGS





At 8.40 he flicks the block and it appears to be under spring tension. Whereas mine is loose and flapping around inside the action.

I think perhaps this is a case of send it back to where you bought it. These actions are simple for a proper gunsmith. 
For the rest of us? Leave it to an expert! 😂
