Yes heard about this (Its in Colne in Lancashire) apparently they dropped in through the roof but nicked the guns without touching the floor therefore alarm didn't go off (that's what I was told but could be bollox) sounds like someone been watching a jewelry theft from the pink panther film or similar :)

It’s a single story building with a very low roof, if you lifted the roof you could definitely reach in and remove guns from the racks without ever going inside.

The news reports are very vague on a time (between 24 and 25 October) so it seems the alarm wasn’t triggered. All the semi autos were in one area of the shop leading to the speculation they lifted the roof in that area and took the guns they could reach rather than the more expensive guns, all speculation though as no one has confirmed any exact details on any of the forums.

We had a similar problem a few years ago with clothing thefts - took the top corner of the shop up and took a load of coats off the racks - never caught on camera and didn't trigger the alarm. They had obviously been up and cased the place.

Clever little buggers - shame they can't apply that thinking and cunning to something worthwhile and make a positive contribution to society.
