Normanton SG, Leicestershire. Help needed

Normanton shooting ground in Thurlaston Leicestershire is under threat from a handful of new locals, please sign this petition to help them fight for survival. Normanton SG has a lot of history going back to the early 60's and is a great friendly ground to shoot at, with Mick and Jason Marlow (formally of Kibworth SG) running things it's been going from strength to strength and it would be a great shame to loose such a cracking ground.

Signed, shot here since the early 80's when it was run by Walter & Anne Benbow the landowners. There's been noise issues in the past but they were overcome by alterations to shoot hours.

It's about time there was a planning ruling preventing "newcomers" to an area from causing this sort of crap...

Obviously noise is a tremendous issue, but often the complainers are people who have moved into property very recently. Should they not have paid their conveyancing solicitor to do a search?

Is it not time that the CPSA employed a liason officer ? This person could then visit complainers and investigate the reason for their complaint and possibly educate them into what is allowed with regards to noise nuisance, liase with ground owners and local council and hopefully find an amicable solution.

As we all know it is far too easy for complaints about noise to be upheld without a proper investigation.
