Ok maybe this is a different article i cant give you the date cos a friend copied it for me and there is no date on the page but i believe its from last year sometime and is by Richard atkins in clay shooting and has page 60 on it. It is comparing blu28 with black24 is that same one that you refer to ?

Walk down the the big heap of wads infront of a busy (at the end of the day after the shooting is finished) DTL stand and you will see part of the reason F-blacks pattern so tight... ;)

intriguing pray tell :)

Argh thats interesting then. Different statements the plot thickens. Will we ever get to the bottom of this £10 difference :)

Mine open just fine.....or else I would not have hit anything over the last 100 years.

The Olympic shooters using Fiocchi shells had theirs open up just fine....! Rossi managed 99/100 of hers opening up just fine.

A joke is a joke.....but......

This is silliness ....!

I shot 100, 24gm f blu's today on a sporting lay out, wouldn't say they were no good i just couldn't put the lead in the right place.

Don't know why the £10 difference but there is definately a lot of contradiction on the make up of the two cartridges in question.

Even on the fiocchi website the f black 24gm is using 3% antimony and the 28gm uses 5%????? :prankster:

Tiptop that has already been answered sweetie.....they are 5%.

It is true that you can find many a plastic wad with closed petals, not just Fiocchi but I seriously doubt that would make it pattern tight anyway. Closed petals or not the shot and wad part company very soon after exiting the barrel, weight difference and air friction sees to that.

In fact if it were so simple then cartridge manufacturers would have special non-opening wads as long range fodder wouldn't they? ;)

Boys they are not paper.

Think Newtons Law......that might give you a clue.

So whats the answer to the difference in cost.

Is it the powder, the wad,or is it really the lead.

You are the sponsored shot and preach fiocchi and webber the distributor but no answers to the questions(where have i heard that before) :bb:

I am not rubbishing them as i find them not a bad cartridge.

Save worrying for a tenner, can someone tell me the reason for the £40+ quid difference between Hull Sovereigns and Eley Superbs? :sarcastic:   :cigar:

They do.

Hahaha ....no idea Tiptop.

What a lot of talk about £10.

I for one will not ask the question when they have arranged for these cartridges as I have said before...to be an affordable ....but top class cartridge. Don't worry you probably have to pay more for the secret components....!

Expect someone will come along with the answer!
Its been covered to the Nth. degree.

Its getting like the which shooting insurance should I buy and why is BASC so expensive threads that crop up almost daily on another forum.  I've no intention of spending the next ten years repeatedly answering the same question.

You make your choice and pay your money.

I have shooters dropping their existing cartridge and converting to either F Blu or F Black on a weekly basis, the vast majority return for more.

They buy on value and performance.

They tell me that they can "feel the Fiocchi difference"
