Ear defenders

Hi all brought a set of deben stereo ear defenders only the £50 ones. every time I shoot with them they start squealing after a shot goes off or when I turn them on are they damaged or just rubbish thanks in advance

Yep, take them back and get some Sordin ones.

Try the battery connections?

Does sound wrong, sounds like feedback - normally when the microphone is too close to a speaker - I wonder if you have the sensitivity turned up too high. 

Try switching them on, but keeping the dial very low and then retest.

Or take them back.

It could be coming from the clay if you just winged it. i always carry a priest in my shooting bag for such events.

I have the Debens, and they should not do that. I find them very good.

Take them back for an exchange if Matts sensitivity suggestion doesn't work.
