Bob, I know someone who is looking for one (but for Skeet not DTR) can you please email me the details and I will pass on?

Hi Nicola - this is the Double Trap model, just bumped on Shootbay. Fixed full choke in the top barrel, possibly not the best gun for skeet

This guy shoots OSK with a different attitude.

But I agree the very high ribs will not be any use. He was looking for a DT10 trap gun.

I will let him know when I look at it on shootbay.

Is that true that Southern Counties have got new chip?

We converted here on Isle of Man months ago and have been holding selections on Random, will be a shame if it doesn't happen because most people enjoyed it more than old system! You will still get the specialists that learn to shoot it well and this is ISSF's problem, it is easy to work out at least one target from the second line onwards.

How do Jake! Glad you found the DT forum i set up! All this spreading the word on DT seems be working and getting some good interest going! Who knows we may get 6 squads again like the old days!!Southern Counties does have a chip for random DT, i think pete pestered them to get one a while ago.

How did your selections go? What sort of scores are being shot?

Matt

Hi Matt, yes, there seems to be more interest at moment, your doing a good job spreading the word.

The first shoot we had on Random the scores were encouraging, I hit 105 ex 120 and finished on 130 ex 150 I think 2nd place was 121 ex 150 and most guys shot it well. But I had made the targets a little softer because I was thinking of the 50m possibility.

The second time it was a windy miserable day and targets were faster so scores suffered, I think I hit about 114 ex 150 that day.

Thats some good shooting mate!!! I still haven't shot it yet but it looks harder than old DT which was had enough! Did you find it easy to remember the targets you had on the first line so you could spot shoot the rest or did you moving gun the lot? Think your spot on with the slower targets, i think if it goes random then 50 meters could be the distance. Do you think it will make more people from IOM shoot DT?

Yes Mate more people are already shooting DT Random, we had full squad which is v good for IOM, not sure whether it will last!

I had a top secret system (hahaha) for knowing what I got on first line, then I spot shot yes. Its still harder because you might not get to see the clay you want. I think this issue is what the ISSF don't like because people will have target markers of some sort on them, but I reckon it wouldn't be that hard to remember.

That first line is a killer though, and dependent on gun hold there is a bit of luck involved which isn't quite right for an Olympic discipline, but I suppose we need a technique that cuts this down.

Those Love beads are top secret Watchman, keep that to yourself!

I'm going to shoot without them tomorrow anyway. Good luck at Southern Counties Mate.
