Ha! have come to the conclusion there is no such thing as a nice Dt10 just offloaded mine but thanks anyway ;)
 Some might disagree with that conclusion Shaun...and you'll have to change your username....
The re-proof is quick because for choke work Nigel can proof in-house.

If you want to know the difference in drop for sporter vs trap stocks go to browningint.com and follow the Miroku link.

Was only joking about the Dt10 John you cannot dispute the pedigree but had been promising to treat myself to one for years and was gutted to let it go but just could not get on with how high it shot  but will to keep username for the time being if only for nostalgia. :( thanks for the link..

Borrowed an mk3800 today 32" fixed choke and even though it has seen better days was a lot more user friendly then the Dt10 which is good news oddly enough going back to the trap version when looking for second hand they are predominantly trap as opposed to sporters with the latter usually being grade ones and as my mate said today airgun wood!! also i would prefer the trap forend so maybe this is why people tend to convert trap models for sporting purely down to being how numerous trap models have become. just a thought but would be interesting to know how much variation there is betwwen a trap stock and a sporter???
Sorry mate I've no idea what the sporter stock is like as I only shoot trap and have never had the sporter. As for the wood on grade ones, well yes it can be rather plain to say the least. A mate of mine had a really plain bit of wood on his grade one, however a gunsmith stripped it to re oil it/remove a dent or two and it came back with a fair amount of figure in the wood, but I have no idea how that was done though, probably some sort of trade secret! :)

I am currently refinishing a friends browning, no grain or figure visible at all however after stripping the old surface and working some "trade secret" stuff into the wood there is now figure coming through. The point to this reply is that even the blandest wood can be improved massively with a little work and elbow grease oh and knowledge of course. As I said in another post a SH £700 gun can look like new with a spend of £170 for barrell blackening and £15 of the correct stock oil.

Better keep that "trade secret" to yourself Ian, or they will all be at it! :D

I know, Ha

Lots of gunsmiths have there own secret mixture and various potions, there are many off the shelf products some are good some are rubbish. I have refinished many many stocks over the years and have tried pretty much everything, I now have a nice box of tricks. Some bottles I have had for over 20yrs :)

Seen the light then, we wait for the verdict.

I also prefer a trap fore end. :)

Nice choice :) Cant beat a decent bit of girth in the left hand :.: :.:

Thats exactly what Mrs ips says, but she has been spoiled :)

Hope the new gun suits you and your scores rocket.

Shaun, congratulations. I hope the marriage is made in heaven for you. Any problems or issues PM me. Would love to see a picture of your near new gun, if it is any prettier than any of mine, consider it confiscated.

Shaun, good luck with the new gun mate! Look after it and it will still be shooting when you are dead and buried! :.:

Indeed, but better to have girth in left and right hands at once... ;)

3 days in and no pictures and no shooting feedback.

What's going on? There are rules about this you know Shaun!
I believe the term is "Pics or shens", meaning Pictures or I claim shenanigans, or to put it another way...Pics or it didn't happen.

Gotta obey the rules I particularly like "Rule 5" ;)
