I was just waisting some time tonight, and I come across this web site.

If you get a chance sign up, and take a look at the gun section in Engraving, most is done old school, and in particular there is a guy on there who has taken the hobby up as a past time, he is the son of a very famous engraver, all I will say is wow!

Ha ha .... Dont think i could concentrate on me shooting with that on me side plate. And you would have to pray you weren't on a line with a lady shooter, the embarrassment of it. Mind you it Doesnt seem to bother one of our top dtl shooters who has similar engraving on a kreighof.

Ed,

What is your taste in engraving? I may be able to help.

I personally like heavy relief Oak leaves exactly the same as a WC Scott Premier engraving, if that was to your taste, it conjures up thoughts of Rutland Water shoreline in the Autumn.

Or if art is your taste a friend of mine in Oz has a Bertuzzi engraved with Diana and the garden of Eden.

Sideplates really are a blank canvas for the engravers art and freedom.

We read the glossy magazines and marvel at the Italian bulino engraving, ignoring the fact that we have brilliant engravers here in the UK.
