Basically HG is 0points, and you get 1 point per clay you are behind the hg. Worked on a rolling average kind of deal, dropping any anomalies (bad day at the office) would work fine I would think.

Basically, low points=good. High points = baaaaaad.

Dont make it complicated.....keep the CPSA Classes ie AAA, AA, A, B etc

If AAA is 87% + then anyone who shoots 87% of the course score (Course par) call it what you want then thats how there classified wether they break 50 clays or 90 it doesnt matter, likewise for all the other classes.

Then you get a true reflection of each and everyones ability wether they shoot easy or hard courses.

Update it everytime they shoot and you will then get a proper classification system...how you choose to reward the classes is up to you..but it will certainly stop any score manipulation etc. Like Mr P said you can have a purple day reap the benifits but at least this way you wont not be penalised for the next 5 years because of it as it the next shoot youre back down where you should be.

They use the handicap system at MCSC members comp, in the main it works quite well but they still keep the classifications because if you don’t it does have one slight disadvantage.

Someone with a low average say mid 50’s and big handicap can shoot 10 clays over their average on a good day quite easily (one extra ‘give me’ stand for example), putting them on a 100 or more straight, but someone on a consistent high 80’s low 90’s average and no handicap will struggle to put an extra 10 on their score.

You will find the top shots win a lot less and the low average big handicap having a good day shooter will win more. Obviously if they keep doing it their handicap diminishes, but the inconsistent up and down shooter will benefit greatly over a consistent one.

On World Sporting they run a comp with no handicap and a comp with handicap simultaneously to try and deal with this.

No easy answer really .

The CPSA are happy to announce that we will guarantee the prize fund with the estimated cash prizes* as below for the English Open ABT:

High Gun: £300

Runner Up: £200

Third: £150

1st in Class: £120

2nd in Class: £100

3rd in Class: £90

That is my understanding - 2 in B were promoted so 3,4,5 were paid

87 entries at £80 say £7k

The above prizemoney say £1900

The English Open is a fundraising event Southern Counties probably quoted £42-48 [no inside knowledge]

87 x 45 = £3900

CPSA accounts will show contribution
