Hi Everyone,

I applied for my shotgun certificate way back in September and had my interview 3 weeks ago. Now waiting not very patiently for the postman to turn up.

Could today be the day?

Hope to be sharing much more interesting posts in the near future....

Dean (aspiring shooter)

Today wasn't the day only junk mail for me today.

I'm in `South `Yorkshire Finners, appears to be one of the most back logged counties around at the minute.

Maybe next week... ON the bright side the gun kitty is growing each week.

Fingers crossed then mate. Six months is bloody ridiculous though.

I let my cert lapse for (quite) a few years, when I re-applied about 6 years ago, the thing was turned around in TEN days. My latest renewal was all sorted in a reasonable time (can't recall exactly) but it certainly wasn't 6 months.

Let's hope you're sorted soon :good:

hope it turns up soon, In Kent there is a 9 month backlog.  I applied for my renewal last June and got it in Feb after phoning them so say I was going abroad in March, if I hadn't have phoned them I don't know when it would have arrived.

Yes I only got my FAO visit after phoning them and i tried to call them yesterday but went straight through to voicemail so left them a very polite voicemail asking for them to call me back....they didn't but Ill try again Monday.

Hey Luke good to hear of others from the area. Can you recommend any good grounds to visit in the locally?

Been having a few lessons in York unto now as thats where a friend goes.

Yes the day did eventually arrive a couple of weeks after my last post and after I contacted them and asked what the complaints procedure was. It arrived 2 days later....

Still not bought a gun in fact it was a bit of an anticlimax as I got my license and completely lost my shooting mojo.

Shooting without a coach is way way harder than i thought it would be.

What grounds are you after practice /comp
Practice really Luke for now.

Don't lose heart, get out there, make yourself talk to people and they will take you along with them.  Hopefully you'll pick things up as you go along.  It will get better, just have a realistic outlook on what you can do for now.  Keep at it.
