I would be obliged if members could suggest suitably qualified and experienced carriers to deliver shotgun cartridges.

Please, please , please DONOT suggest either UK Mail or TNT, they've stretched my patience and fryed my brain to the nth. degree.

Cartridges donot require transporting under ADR regulations.

From memory, I've recently contacted, CityLink, DHL, DPH, Tufnells (twice, didn't bother to return call). There are others, I just can't remember them all at the moment.

All I require is a reliable, cost effective carrier for cartridges, batteries (SLA) and other goods.

If you are involved in the industry, or know of a suitable company please contact me via PM.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I emailed UPS, they replied some considerable time later, advising that they do not caary firearms or anything to do with them.

Any other suggestions?

may be obvious, but why not just go to your nearest stockist? I would have thought any savings would be negated by carraige costs.

Think Webber is the supplier/sender rather than the customer ;)

What are the regs concerning bulk transport of cartridges? Does the driver need a shotgun certificate or do they just need to check credentials at each end? I might have a suggestion.

Nothing I think. I ordered 12000 carts and emailed the dealer a photo of my cert. Delivery was made to me without further ado.

Aha, quite correct. Didn't look at the website, just going on a discussion I had with him trying to get a decent discount on 10k. My bad :(

Gents

Thanks for the various suggestions.

So far my quest has been in vein.

Many delivery companies have revised their policies regarding what they classify as dangerous goods. Its policy, nothing to do with ADR, H&S or security.

They simply wish to cherry pick and are allowed to do so.

The policy puts them in the position of continuing to accept business from existing customers, but declining to quote for new business.

www.norgascartridges.co.uk has no problem in delivering orders for cartridges throughout the North West as we use our own transport.

Similarly we have no problem in sending palletised orders to most parts of the UK carriage free, for orders of 10,000 or more, but there are some exceptions including much of Scotland, where a contribution is required.

My quest for a parcel carrier who will take shotgun cartridges continues.

Its difficult to believe that Britain is on its knees, but carriers are declining new business. I've had UK Mail upto my back teeth. If one company deserves to go belly up its UK Mail.

Place a small order with Just Cartridges and see who turns up.
This was my initial thought but perhaps if they count as an established customer to whoever, then it won't help. It sounds like a good business opportunity for someone to specialise in shell delivery!
