Very exciting to see details emerging of the major events for 2012 - including one that ShootClay really enjoyed last year. The Beretta World Sporting Championship will be held from Friday July 6th through to Sunday July 8th at Meon Springs Fly Fishery in Hampshire. Last year there were 930 entrants (including your author) who tested themselves against 120 targets over 15 stands set up by Bob Clarke and Peter Corney.  Beretta World was my first competition last year and only my third or fourth registered shoot - but there was some really hittable stuff out there, along with some very testing targets - it was a great course that even as a relative novice I really enjoyed shooting.Once again, the prize fund is huge, with over £25,000 worth of prizes including Beretta Shotguns, Breitling Watches, Eley Cartridges and much more. The event will be squadded like last year - but if you book online (or staple entry forms together) you'll be able to organise yourself into squads with friends. You can read our review of the event here and you'll see that we absolutely loved the layout and format of the day which allowed us to shoot in the sunshine with a fun squad.Shootclay will be back this year for more and we look forward to seeing some of our new friends there.Full details and booking is available on the event website : http://www.berettaworld.co.uk

Anybody interested in booking on for this? Want to see if there is interest in a ShootClay squad...

Tobi you did not have to use a Beretta because a few years ago they wanted to make it a CPSA Registered event and therefore it was made that you could shoot any gun. This might have changed now though.... so will wait to see who has up to date info.

I checked the form on the website and it said Beretta only. No great shakes, there're plenty of competitions this year

Yep - rule 1 on the sheet in front of me:'Only Beretta shotguns can be used for the full duration of the competition'

That's cleared that up then, maybe it is not registered any more.

Rule 2 - This is a special CPSA registered event. Competitors who are not members of CPSA will shoot under a CPSA day pass.

I will be shooting this one on the Sunday, hope to hang around to watch any shoot offs at the end of the day /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif

Oh dear looks like it has changed back then and yet still kept the registered. Shame, because registered shoots are suppose to be for all CPSA members not just those with use of a Beretta. Ah well......./wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif Now....... at the Perazzi Grand Italia's in the various disciplines.........you can shoot any gun and not just a Perazzi. Fairer way of doing it I think./wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-wink.gif

I'll book on for the Sunday as well - so I can stick around and collect my prize money...Seriously though, I have a soft spot for this one as it was my first serious competition last year.. I loved the day in the sunshine.

  Nice one Ed /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif

I've booked for the Friday pm. Another good thing about this shoot is that the GMK/Beretta gunsmith is on site.I had one of my old Beretta X traps overhauled for the cost of the parts, I was well satisfied.

Rule 1 rules me out/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif  Andy

Hey all, I'm definitely up for this one as it's far enough away for me to get some serious practice in. I have a spare Beretta AL391 Urika Teknys Stonecoat 30" semi auto and if it's not sold by then it's on offer to the first person that wants to use it for this shoot. Cheers, Jon.
