Heartbreaking

Just been turn't away from caterham clays this morning due to some one sabotaged the ground, burnt out the caravan, cut the leads for the traps and also smashed all the stands. Spoke to Darren who runs the shoot who was gutted not sure if it will open again this shoot has been going for a good few years I'm not a regular but I also know Darren for a long time so I hope it will continue and beat the idiot who done this!

Very bad news, presumably the leads had been left around for the morons to cut through but smashing up stands and setting fire to the caravan is dangerous criminal behaviour so hopefully the police will take a close interest.

I have some prize money due there, so I have emailed them and told them put it towards their recovery cost.

That's very nice of you Will, if I'm not mistaken they only save it for two months anyway. Not sure if it is noise related because it seems quite a distance from houses, also a home owner would be mad to risk such behaviour and the gate is locked I believe so it would have to have been a determined cross country trek with a jerry can ? It is local trash for sure though.

This is sick, evil behaviour.  Trouble is it only takes seconds to destroy what takes ages to set up let alone the years of saving or the bank loans to fund the operation.  I hope that they were insured.

Sounds like someone with shooting knowledge may be responsible.  Mindless thugs would not know to cut the cables or go equipped to cut them unless they were stealing copper.  I think the club have upset a shooter.  Whatever the cause it is a horrible thing to do.

Highly unlikely to be an upset shooter in my view, I mean who in their right mind with a SGC would risk all with this kind of reprisal ? It's someone with nothing to lose.

There was a rumour circulating at the Horne yesterday suspicions were that it may have been someone not a million miles from the shoot itself and not someone known to be a regular shooter or an anti.

Whoever it was may never be known but suffice it to say that they are mindless F**kwitts. Hopefully they will be up and running again in a fortnights time.
