Have seen eley pigeon select and gamebore velocity at about £160 to £180 per thousand, any one use these on game birds,as do not what to buy unless they are up to the job.Use black gold 5 shot 32 grams but on local shoots I think I am over gunned and could save money on the cart's. Thanks

I use the velocity 30g 6 carts on pigeons and crows. Do a good job.

As long as you're not shooting super high pheasant, I'm sure they will do the trick. :)

I am NOT a lover of Fiochi, but they do a 28 gram 6 shot 65mm cartridge which is a good price and works well in my Westley Richards S x S.

What's the price of fiochi per thousand and at 28 grams is it strong enough to do the job.

So go for gamebore over eley then.
That would be my preference of the two, Hull cartridges are also very good.

32g no5 black gold is a high bird cartridge really, it's an English 4

30g darkstorm 6 (English 5) is a good cartridge and not to thumpy unless through lightweight sxs

just got a slab of 30g velocity 6s. £55
