The one advertised is an over & under. That one was never £37

The original Yeoman was a side by side, and when it arrived in the 1960s (or thereabouts) it was indeed around £37

The advert that describes the OU as the one of the best guns made in the EU is laughable. The man selling it knows this, I'm sure.

If it's jamming, or in any way defective, take it back, demand your money back and go to a proper dealer.

So what do you call a proper dealer, can you be more explicit .?

So what would you say was a better gun from the EU

The Yeoman non ejector s/s  was 37.00 in the 60,s it was advertised as a gamekeepers gun because the limit (tax wise)  was 40.00 you could spend buying one for your Gamekeeper!

Colin, it may be better to go to a gun dealer in your area that is more of a specialist when it comes to clay guns. Where do you live because someone on here is sure to know of a decent dealer in your area. It does seem as though your current dealer has not advised you too well. A better gun from the EU would be a Beretta, a 680 series without doubt! Its also worth remembering that many guns have clay and game versions, a good dealer will know the difference and should be able to give you good advice.

Actually Colin, send a pm to Ed Solomans on this forum, he's up your way and will be able to help you.

Thanks Les, I live close to East Midlands Airport, which is handy for Melbourne Gun, but he does not always stock guns that appeal to me

Try hadfields in Loughborough. Or the countryman of Derby.

They are are close to you, and do a good range of guns.

Or even premier guns at doveridge. They have a large stock.

yes mate, I know of those, all well respected from what I've heard! I've dealt with countryman but not the others, but others seem to rate them so they should be a sound bet!

ColinJ has already bought his AYA Yeoman from Hadfields !

Colin, nothing wrong with the Yeoman at all, why not take it back to Hadfields and get them to sort it?

Otherwise you could be looking for ever and a day to find something that suits your budget and getting very frustrated in the process.

In all seriousness my Yeoman De-Luxe which I have had for more than twenty years as probably shot near a million cartridges and has only broken a bottom firing pin in that time.

I've told you ten million times don't exaggerate!  :)  A million cartridges over twenty years is ... 136 cartridges everyday of the year.
