    Extended chokes

Probably a stupid question but is it OK to store a gun barrels down with extended chokes. Just want to check they won't be damaged?

Anyone waiting for a new Shotgun certificate in Hampshire

That's an extreemely long time to wait. It appears that some Counties take longer than others. In Essex the wait is around 7 weeks from start to finish. I did call every week though to make sure it was on track. Hope you get it soon.

    12G or 20G

Thanks guys. Appreciate the in depth response Hamster. Yes she is fine with the recoil. We are planning to do some mounting practise over the weekend :) and work on the enjecting as she did find it hard. She is 5ft 10 and a size 12 but has always suffered from weak wrists. I think we'll stick...

    12G or 20G

Hi, my girlfriend and I have recently started shooting and have had a couple of lessons. At the first lesson she was given a 28G silver pigeon and I had a 12G. She shot really well and instantly wanted to take up the sport. I got my licence and bought a 12G Silver pigeon. However we have gone...

    Is there really only one?

I have only been shooting a while and have a 687 SP but yesterday I went to gun shop and picked up a 682 Gold E and it felt amazing. It was like it just sucked into my shoulder and felt perfect. I then tried alot of other models and nothing came close. Maybe there is just one. I now want to...

Just looked on JJ's website and it looks good - does anyone know the clay prices for practise and how much are the Sunday comps?

    Shooting without a licence

Thanks Skeet. We'll pop there in a couple of weeks. I shot again on Sat but only got a chance to have 30 clays but hit 22 of them. Concious that I think Fennes sporting set up might be easier than most.

    Shooting without a licence

Hi, i have just started shooting and my girlfriend has joined me on the two lessons I have had to date. The club that I shoot at wil allow her to shoot my gun at the club whilst I am there. Is this club in the minority? We would like to take the gun away for weekends and do some clay shooting...

    Hi from Essex

Thanks all. I've found some useful info on this site already which has been great. Looking forward to getting out and practising and maybe go along to some comps (no expectation of winning though) in the New Year, just to get a feel for how it all works and hopefully pick up some tips.

    Hi from Essex

Thought I'd say Hi. Just recently joined the forum and have been reading alot of posts. I've had a couple of lessons down at Fennes Shooting School. I've purchased a Beretta SP and will be using it for the first time on my own this Saturday as the SGC has just dropped through the letterbox.

    Peltor or Howard Leight?

thanks all the replies. I took delivery of the Howard Leights and am very impressed. I'm off to a store next week to try on some glasses. Beretta do a range of glasses that seem reasonably priced and have various colours. I've got some Oakleys with interchangeable lenses but I think they are too...

    Peltor or Howard Leight?

Thanks Les, i'll have a closer look at the Peltors and i'll have to try a few pairs of glasses and see what is best for the black clays that are used where I will be shooting.

    Peltor or Howard Leight?

Hi, I am new to the sport as well as this forum and was looking for some advise on hearing protection. I'm just waiting for my licence, purchased a gun (held at the dealers) and have most of the gear I need but eye and ear protection is still outstanding. I had a lesson at the weekend and used...
