    Shooting "city break" - Morocco?

Well, Mrs Jones has now had two new bathrooms this month so I'm putting the break on hold until the New Year.  Morocco doesn't worry me as much as many places from the terrorist angle, but nonetheless, very few places (resorts/cities) seem attractive just at the moment. I like Hampshire...

West London Shooting School / AC Sporting Targets - connected?

They certainly offer lessons, not sure of the standard of the instructors, but I'm sure they'd be able to help you.

    Changing Guns - your reasons

    1.  Started out with a Lanber, because I was 17 and it was the best I could persuade my mother to buy me!  Had it for 2 years. 2. My second gun was a brand new Browning 425, which I subsequently sold to a friend (who still has it).  Shot much better with it straight away, and it just felt like...

Two new Game Fairs to replace CLA on same day!!

Back down to two in fact, as of yesterday when Harford's Countryman Fairs backed out (but hinted at something else in the pipeline). I'm not surprised that Wes Stanton "won", having met him many years ago at another CLA game fair where I was working (he kindly let me shoot some Helice for free...

    Shooting "city break" - Morocco?

Because the SPO says so...of course : ) It wasn't all bad and I've been to much worse.  I also quite like cous cous.

    Shooting "city break" - Morocco?

Thanks guys.  Already been to Morocco, albeit about 15 years ago.  Highlights of that trip involved a traffic jam featuring car horns that sounded like demented camels (just below our window), the fact that everyone was on the take (including the 90 year old "chef from your hotel" who gave us a...

    Shooting "city break" - Morocco?

The SPO* would like a short break before Christmas and has suggested Marrakech.  I'm not inclined to sit around whilst she is enjoying the spa, so does anyone have any experience of shooting near there? Alternatively, any other suggestions?  Cyprus might be an option from a quick look online...

Shotgun certificate application - no gun, and no cabinet

I think we all concluded on the other thread that you would now be buying a gun Andrew, so posting this for the benefit of all!   Interesting letter from GMP - rather overstepping their legal authority to "require" someone to tell them about security arrangements on purchasing a gun -...

Buy or hire - that is the question

I would always recommend buying a gun early for all the reasons above.  It will also make you want to go shooting more regularly, which will speed up your learning curve.  The last thing a beginner needs is reasons not to go shooting, and having to go somewhere and use a potentially "unknown"...

Perazzi choke - sense check please

Don't talk to me about HPXs - I'm trying to ignore the fact they exist, lest I find myself buying one. : )

Perazzi choke - sense check please

That's interesting.  0.1mm = 0.003thou, see what you mean, but its still drastically different from two whole sizes different to what I'd expected I had (for 15 years!). Question is now, how am I going to measure the bore without special equipment? Fibre wadded 9s at that.  Might stand back a...

Perazzi choke - sense check please

Never had occassion to question it before, but today I actually measured the choke on my MX8.   Bores are stamped as 18.4 (0.724).  The bore through the chokes appears to be 0.700 and 0.690, give or take a couple of thou.   By my calculation, that gives me constrictions of 0.024 and 0.034...

    6.5 SHOT

I've not tried 6.5s systematically on clays (apart from probably in practice when I've had some game cartridges in my pocket), but I'm thinking I will shortly.  When I previously wanted some extra punch on FITASC targets, I used 36g of 7.5 when the rules allowed.  Worked nicely but got a little...

    Hello from Hampshire

Hi everyone Just getting back into clay shooting after a bit of a lay-off due to children (4 in four years, including a set of twins).     Had my first outing this weekend and pleased to see that I was still shooting at a reasonable standard (39 ex 50 and 42 ex 50, ESP club comp.).  Hopefully...
