FOR SALE Brattonsound 7-gun Safe - SOLD

I have a Brattonsound 7-gun safe for sale.  I believe it to be the MT7 model, which is slightly taler than standard.  (Will take my B725 with extended choked easily)  It was purchased by me a couple of yeas ago when I moved but never used and is still in the original unopened box that it was...

    Certificate Renewal - Hampshire

Anyone have any idea how long the current wait is for the renewal of a Shotgun Cert in Hampshire?

I need to get out more

There is no question in this, just rambling through my own thoughts.  I started shooting just over a couple of years ago.  Visited a DTL range, had a go and enjoyed it.  Through another interest I knew of a group that shot regularly at the A1 shooting ground in Barnet so was introduced...

    Silver Pigeon III

That's good news :-)  I have a 687 SP III that I bought as my first gun about three years ago.  I paid £1,000 for it and it still looks like new.  Even though I have no plans to sell, it's nice to know that it is holding its value.

Change of Address - Asked to send Certificate in.

Just over a year ago I moved from Surrey to Hampshire.  At the time I notified Surrey Constabulary as I was obliged to and also notified Hampshire as a matter of prudence.   Today I was contacted by Hampshire FAO - the first contact that I have had with them.  He took some details about my new...

    Should all police be armed.

We regularly carry and use shotguns (and no doubt an number of contributors here also have Section 1 firearms) for sporting use in pursuit of our hobby.  And we are happy to do so.  However, carrying a firearm with the view to potentially using it on another human being is a completely different...

Recommend me some Wellington Boots for shooting

I use a pair that I bought form my local Clarks shoe shop.  They cost me £30.  They are not 'branded' but are well made, have good grip, clean up easily and look exactly the same as £200 boots when covered in mud.

    Left Handed Guns

I'm a lefty.  I originally shot with a RH Beretta 687 SPIII.  I now have a LH Browning 725 Sport.  The browning feels much more natural to shoulder.  I had no issues with the Beretta when originally using it but probably just didn't know any better.  I think that you just compensate for it...

    Notification of Transfer or Disposal

I moved from Surrey to Hampshire in April last year.  Made the appropriate notifications to each force both by email and by recorded delivery mail.  I have had no contact from Hampshire constabulary at all.  I was expecting some kind of contact, if not a visit.  My certificate runs out in the...

    Gun Storage (Not at home)

The issue will come once you really get into it and don't want to shoot just at Bisley.  If you are really serious about taking the sport up then you will need to store your gun at home.  There isn't an alternative without severe restrictions on where and when you shoot.

    help

You are not alone.  I only score 10 - 15 on a 50 bird round and have been shooting for over a year.  A couple of lessons early on helped but my most recent outing with an instructor didn't see any improvement.  I guess that my hope is that one day it will just 'click' and I will get better.

    Safety

I shot rifles regularly with the Sea Cadets when I was a lad and we were taught safety to the point where it was second nature.  I also shot rifles at a range when I lived in the US back in the late 80's, where firearm 'safety' came pretty low on the list of priorities.  Many of the guys I knew...

    New SGC application Hants. Police

I recently moved to Hampshire and, because of a delay in completing on our house, had to put my guns in storage with a friend.  I notified both Surrey Police (Who had granted my certificate) and Hampshire FAO when the guns went into storage and who they were with, then when we moved in & my...
