    head position

If your head is lifting up probably too much weight over front foot, causing you to lock up early and slow gun down as you approach kill point. Even weight spread between feet and push hips in should help keep you in right spot.

    is sporting to hard

I would argue if you are hitting 74% average and only been on sporting a short time, in reality the stuff you are shooting is too EASY. try a couple registered Sporting's (not practice after event jobs as often they get toned down) and see what you think. You may surprise yourself.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Matched the speed and held a tiny gap for me. Maybe 6" at the bird, let it come in

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I'd be surprised, I inked them and shot JUST off the bottom edge.

    stupid targets

Sporting is no longer designed to mimic game as such- it is a stand alone discipline in its own right. This also allows people to see what a shotgun is capable of at ranges that they would not be confident taking live game at. You can consistently kill face/semi face on clays at an honest 70...

    Thec British Open at Hodnet

Exceptional event very well run and nothing silly but some good strong birds in places. I thought 114 about all was there on sporting but not sure what's happening on sportrap scores, I think 96-7 to win. Well done Hodnet .

    Plastic Wad fouling .

Never looked to check! Not sure I've ever cleaned the bores other than to push an oily mop down after rain.

    Another gun choice - I can't decide!

    No bead?

Absolutely. You can probably get away with just looking at the bird and lashing through t a bit on the lower stuff but shoot anything at a half sensible height, curling or with an element of crossing about it and you need a degree of barrel awareness for sure.

    No bead?

I believe you need "A" reference point; I prefer to use and unobstructed rib (I do see plenty of it) however if you are comfy with a bead then that is as good.  Im not sure a lack of bead makes me more or less aware of the gun per se, it is just my personal choice.

    No bead?

Always taken them off my gun and I am always deliberately conscious of where the rib is- you have to be if you plan of shooting sporting/FITASC to a decent level.

FSB / Nick Penn - Shooting both eyes open.

Well, here goes... i thought, in an uncharacteristic move, that I'd be better keeping my gob shut and coming back later with a more balanced, less harsh view. Well it's 11.15pm and I'm afraid it all still sounds like a load of tosh to me.  Im not into knocking others in the same profession as...

FSB / Nick Penn - Shooting both eyes open.

Well... I watched this with Mr Lyons and was truly gob smacked at almost all of it, soon as I get through rest of my emails I will try and post an honest reply, looked like a bag of ar54holes to me though.
