You may be referring to history Ducky. I am referring to now. Those two have some proper hot shots breathing down their necks.I was simply talking history sweetie
Only 2 over the years have achieved multiple world and European titles and are more or less head to head in terms of past successes .
I know times are changing and there are many new kids on the block....but in reality ....these two are still at the top of their game....so any top shots now.....still need to climb over these two legends.
Fact.......just saying:wink:
Ok Polly......but they have to get over those two first....just saying.... :laugh:You may be referring to history Ducky. I am referring to now.

It's a pleasure to see them shoot. I saw Ed straight a stand at Westfield that no one got close to while I was watching anyway.
Most are very approachable to.
The future looks good and I wish them all the very best.
Just saying
Ah hahahahahaha.....It's not easy to win money in trap shooting like sporting sporting is everywhere trap is limited

I'd say that Pete Wilson has probably raised the profile of clay shooting to the masses outside of the sport more than anyone else. Yes GD is a household name within the sport but nobody has heard of him outside of shooting. I for one started clay shooting after watching the 2012 Olympics, I wonder how many more have given it a go since... Pete Wilson has done a pretty good job of giving the sport some much needed good publicity. Good luck to him.Another one hit wonder not like George Digweed

Well I've looked at this post a few times and it is typical of Deershooter - running someone or something down! Nothing but negative waves but he's entitled to free speech!Another one hit wonder not like George Digweed

if he isn't on radio four I have not heard of him.
you're so rock and roll..if he isn't on radio four I have not heard of him.
Nope still don't know who he is!
Odd as it may seem, most of the general public down here don't have the foggiest idea who Pete Wilson is!!! He may well have been a great ambassador for the sport, however as is usual with this sport, the message does not seem to have filtered through to Joe Public. That is not his fault of course, but even in a rural area like Dorset, most people don't shoot and have little or no understanding of what we do unfortunately!I think that there are times in your life that other commitments mean you simply don't have the time to do what it takes to compete at the top and going back to club/county level holds little appeal. Whatever the reason Peter Wilson has done a huge amount for the profile of the sport and I wish him every success in the future. I don't think those with the kind of drive to make it to the top ever lose the competitive streak it just has to be channelled into something else.
I think the only time we ever started to gain a bit of acceptance from the public, was back in the days when Jackie Stewart ran those celeb shoot things, there was also the time when Rolex sponsored a grand prix or two! Even when a big shoot is held at SC, there rarely seems to be any local/regional press coverage of it. It almost seems like it must be a taboo subject for the press and the media in general. Only our governing bodies can hope to change things, however it does at times seem that we are fighting a losing battle and I really don't know if the governing bodies are actually equipped with the skills needed to promote the sport to a non shooting public. As a sport I feel that we need the help of some high level professional PR, publicity and marketing specialists. Such pro outfits charge a fortune of course, but without them these conversatiions will still be taking place in future decades, just as they have been in the past.Agreed les were fighting a losing battle and anyone who thinks we as shooters will ever be accepted by Joe public even with an ambassador such as P Wilson are deluded.
