    Rule changes

It looks like the CPSA could be heading for a U turn judging by their latest post of social media. I see they've turned comments off on facebook! PM

    Shoot reports and news 2024

CPSA are currently running a Q&A session online called Coffee and Clays. Questions go direct to the CEO and it's states we're not to hold back on any question. I certainly haven't! If enough folk flag up current issues then changes may be made. Blatant cheating ie.practicing comp birds needs to...

    Kegworth SG

I have no issue with fibre at all but registered fibre only grounds are effectively knackered when the lead ban comes in. There's no alternative that isn't silly money. ie.Eco wads. The majority of shooters will use steel loads at grounds that allow plastic. PM.

    Kegworth SG

I couldn't agree more. I'm honouring the three reg shoots I've already committed to then after that it's mainly practice and sim days for me. A multitude of reasons but the main one is that it HAS to be fun. It hasn't been too many times. I go to my nearest reg ground knowing fine well that...

    CPSA smiles on the north!

I saw they'd staggered the entry opening times to help people book both but getting full squads I imagine is still hard work. I wonder how many days would need to be available for supply to outstrip demand. PM.

    CPSA smiles on the north!

I've booked on for the English but sadly too much work on in August for the British and costs are also an issue. I kept an eye on the booking overview lastnight so see who was shooting and when. Wow. Sportrap sold out in a couple hours and the sporting was full by this morning. Demand must be...

    It’s been emotional..

What a shame you're going. I really enjoy your shoot reports and general input. I like this board and wish it gained more users as I despise facebook but you're right. It has changed recently. I never thought I'd need to put someone on ignore until last week but now I have. You'll no doubt...

    To Choke Or Not ?

It really depends if you're a choke changer or not? If you're not, and shoot under half choke routinely then have it bored out to half or less. It's then good for steel. I had the same dilema with my Miroku's. I shoot 3/8ths 99% of the time and realised all I was doing with the multicokes in my...

The length of a shot string

I guess if YOU believe that is the case and it gives you an advantage then psychologically it will. He also states if you swing through from behind then you can't not be on the line. I beg to differ!😂🤣 PM.

    Anthony Matarese interviews George Digweed

There is certainly a lot of mutual respect there. George was clearly impressed with Anthony's observational skills! PM.

20 gauge - 7.5 or 8 shot? for my daughter

I'd go for 8's for everything in her case. 28gm if she's comfortable with the recoil. 24gm if not. Pellet count is king in this situation. Coupled with open chokes. (I'm assuming she's just starting?) My wife shoots occasionally and I gave her 24gm 8's and screwed in skeet+1/4 (12 bore) I'm...

    Anthony Matarese interviews George Digweed

Hope the link works. If not, search Christopher Claxton on youtube. A fascinating insight in to the life of a legend. Not the usual 10mins of fluff. A great watch. PM.

    CPSA smiles on the north!

They have us over a barrel sadly. If you want to compete in our nationals then you pay what they ask. As I said before, the events are heavily sponsored. Surely that income negates any extra costs. PM.

    CPSA smiles on the north!

Approx 70 places left after entries opened 3hrs ago. Cost obviously hasn't had any effect on numbers. It will no doubt sell out tomorrow. PM.

    CPSA smiles on the north!

Entries open for the English Open tomorrow at Doveridge. £83 for what I guess is 120 bird competition? Considering the event is heavily sponsored I'm finding that difficult to swallow. Competition entries for normal 100 reg up here is £45. What are others thoughts? PM.

    Mid level Competition cartridge

Thanks. We have Gilsans own brand Eleys up north for £290/fibre. There's cheaper alternatives out there but if they are Superb internals as I'm told, then they are a good price. PM.

    Mid level Competition cartridge

Do you happen to know how much the WRG cartridges are? I assume they're fibre? Eley's quality control lost the plot 10/12 years ago but they seem back on point now. PM.

Nearest current cart to Blue Diamonds?

Rose Golds will fit the bill perfectly. They're the direct replacement for the Blue Diamond I believe. I shot them alongside White Gold and they were way smoother than them. PM.
