    Not today

I had been considering going to Westfield today, but Kathleen has blown in and wrecked my plans. At the moment it’s blowing some 40/45 mph and the trees are doing a merry dance, the clincher for me was when I had to retrieve the bin from the bottom of the garden. So I’m staying put and will look...

Not necessarily, the brain associates pulling the trigger with recoil which to the brain’s way of processing is painful and is to be avoided. By using the release trigger you fool the brain into believing nothing bad happens

No, they are not banned. A number of fitasc shooters use them, allegedly it helps to cure a flinch

I was there as well, got very cold towards the end and was so glad to finally finish. Some decent targets ruined by the unpredictable weather 🤔

Just back after reffing the fitasc shoot at Churchills, it was jointly won by Nigel Hart and Julian Morris on 92/100. Some awesome shooting on display from many shooters, Jamie Packham designed a perfect course something for everyone. On my pegs there was a r-l battue approx 85/90m away, when...

    Shoot reports and news 2024

Barbury for me today, what was supposed to a fairly dry day turned out to be nothing of the sort. Gusty winds and driving rain really made some clays dance about. High gun was 95 which considering the conditions was some shooting. I was glad to finish on 72 and drowned my sorrows with a decent...

Hi John, the ref on stand 1 has been there before, though like many of the other refs they DO NOT call out the hits and misses, and to be honest that does piss me off, if you know it’s been hit then you have a chance to argue while still in the stand, and as you know once you step out…….

    CPSA smiles on the north!

Not sure if there is an option to go targets only, if not, it means the vast majority of entrants ( B & C class ) are simply providing the prize money for the few elite class shooters. Should there be an entirely separate English open competition for the lower classes ? Answers on a postcard...

Another price increase for cartridges at end of January

I wouldn’t, my nearest ground is a 120 mile round trip and to just shoot 50 targets isn’t worth the effort

I was also at Barbury today and the wind sure did make a few targets interesting. It is what it is, my score was rubbish but I enjoyed the day, and it’s nice to bump into and chat with others
