Day One over.... hot hot hot for team ShootClay... 36 degrees plus.  Arrived at the ground about 10.30 - had a compak layout to practice a little - but then spent time relaxing and meeting some other shooters whilst getting some much needed hydration prep in place... I drunk 6 liters of water today....

We are all randomly squadded, so its difficult to review layouts - all are set out on the top and sides of a hill, loads of topography, mixture of targets both above and below your feet, all nicely spread out with trees and scrub providing some much needed shade.

I started on CCI - decent birds on there, and a few needing a good gap as well as the usual European technical birds that can beat you for pace and angle - my squad consists of a German, and Austrian, Two Frenchmen and an American Supervet - we got round CCI quite nicely - I scored 19 - one away on peg one, same on beg two and then two on each of the remaining pegs...

Moved onto Promatic - had a bit of meltdown on Pegs one and two - dropping loads.... then I went straight on peg three and four - to claw back a 15 - poor start, outlining how quickly it is to get on your game and stay there on FITASC sporting layouts.

So - I'm 34 ex 50 - Ed is 48 ex 50, Jem is the same as me, Bob is a couple of shots ahead....

Organisation is pretty good, buses to get us around running all day and the catering/rest areas are great.

Will upload a few pics when I can and give you an update tomorrow.

Nice report Matt and good pics from Jem   well shot all in that heat

Looks like the heat is getting to a few of them, some unusally low scores from some good shooters.

Half way through I'm pleased with my score of 67/100.
19 and 14 today felt disappointed with my 14 but overall I'm pleased.

Day two in Madrid... things hotting up with the temperature hitting 40 degrees during the day and some good thunderstorm in the evening.

Out on the ground, Team ShootClay were on the morning rotation so we managed to shoot our first layouts in the slightly cooler part of the day, but our second were super hot in the near midday sun.

I had a poor day - shooting Blaser layout with a 14, and then Browning with a 15 - leaving my on 63 at the half way stage - definitely feels a few targets light - I'll put it down to some silly mistakes, and the heat - which was draining even with 4 litres of water in me before 11.00n- no ill effects, but tiring walking between layouts.

Both layouts excellent with some big targets today, hit those pretty well, but some fast close stuff caught me out.

Jem going well on 67ex100 - and Bob_P around 80 - full results on Bens link above.
