Seen quite a few people shoot with Muller chokes and the breaks they are getting is impressive. Seeing as I am an easily swayed and desperate to use any advantage to help my average abilities, what size Mullers would people suggest for sporting/fitasc.

Thanks.

Depends on your gun if you look on Nicky ts site www.justchoking.co.uk and choose your gun on there it will show you how long they will be. Krieghoff are quite long my beretta ones are an inch I think?

No make of choke will not give you an advantage! Stick with the chokes that you have with the gun and shoot as much as you can. Maybe even use the money you have saved on the chokes for a lesson or two with a good coach! :)

I dont have a problem with the length ( I'm a man any extra length is a bonus ) its the constriction :pU1 U2 etc. Trying to find people's personal preferences..

Ok I use a pair of U2 at everything put em in and shoot , week in week out I see people twiddling with different chokes does my head in as they don't hit more than me ?

I like mullers a lot, do they make a difference, dont really know. They do give good breaks and build confidence yes they do.

I find they give a really great break compared to the factory choke nice star burst rather than a chip, but this is more than likely they are a little tighter.

If you are just getting a pair to try get a pair of U2, suppose to be 1/4 to 1/2 so really a 3/8.

I use a U1 on close stuff rabbits mainly and U3 at everything else. U2 if i feel i am not on my game.

No choke is going to make that much difference you still have to shoot in the right place, but in is all in your head at the end of the day.

The mullers look hyper cool and I am a right tart for black shiney things.

I'm edging towards U2 and U3 to cover all bases, I'm a right tart when it comes to gun porn as well.. :D :D

screw in a pair of U2's and crack on with your shooting, brilliant chokes they surprise me every time

If they don't hit more than you , your not hitting more than them. So no advantage in using them .

Yeah but im not twiddling with chokes

This chap won the odd shoot or two, with a S/S and FIXED chokes, makes you wonder how he did it with such old fashioned tackle. Maybe, just maybe the main thing is to place the shot where the clay is, not where it was.

Percy Stanbury's shooting achievements were vast, with a string of British championships to his credit in various disciplines. He might well have represented Great Britain at the Olympics, too, had rules concerning professionalism not been so strictly enforced in his day. As it was, he was a successful competitor from 1926 to 1953 (winning the Devon Championship in 1926 and the English Open in 1953), and was in the England international team for 26 years. His tally included no fewer than 18 British titles.

That is a little bit like comparing a 100 yard runner from 1900 to Ussain Bolt - you cannot do it, you can only beat those put in front of you.  Technology moves on.
