,thanks Fuz. I sent them your pictures as it is much better to see what we are referring to.

Im lucky, my dealer drops my FBlacks at my door F.O.C and at £180/1000

Ive used over 1500 now and i think they are an awesome shell, id recommend them to anyone, very reliable, consistent, great kills and i have 100% confidence in them.

The only thing that lets them down is the plank pulling the trigger!  :fie:  But I'm working on that.....

Didn't think it would be long before you came along spiting and spluttering like an old woman over the washing wall...!

I do think that it is really important that anyone learning to shoot also learns how to LISTEN to what they are doing as well....it will certainly save accidents. Especially on game days..!

I cannot tell you the amount of times i have shouted 'NO' up the line to someone who had not realised that their cartridge had gone 'pop' when they fired and they were reloading another without looking. This is something not uncommon with fibre game shells. Part of my set up for clay or game (no matter how quick you are going ) is to glance the barrels when loading anything. It is worth it.

I can assure you (all) that Fiocchi are investigating this ...and ...taking it very seriously. Quality assurance is why they have the name and the success on the World circuit that they have.

And while we are on the subject.....after months of banging my head against the OT brick wall.....I finally had a personal best at Owls Lodge...after putting in a 22 and 20 to start with....my third round got me a 23.....!! Yippee....just have to keep getting there now. (and forgetting the crap scores i always put in at NCSC). It is amazing what a great background like that at Owls Lodge and A1 can do for the scores.

What was i using?.........Fiocchi Golden of course....bloody brilliant cartridge.
Its a pity your scores won't be recorded.

Did you have any misfires?

It's not a pity Wylye.....I do not need recorded scores.....the knowledge of just achieving it is enough

I am happy to say I did not have any miss fires.

In fact the only time I have had 2 miss fires was when my leaf spring was in the process of breaking at the RBSS press day recently.

I have fired thousands and thousands of cartridges each year with no problems at all......I am a happy person.

I have used several thousand Fiocchi's of various types over the past few months. The only problem that I've had was 2 weeks ago with a TT2 fibre that went 'phut' and left the over powder wad well and truly stuck in the barrel.

The batch number is 30 8EGI 0139 if you want to pass that on Nicola.

One for the oldies, Baikels for me, 32 bob a thousand and you never had to fire a second shot, simply because you could not see owt for the smoke and bits of wad that erupted from the first shot.

Bloody marvellous for ALL kinds of game, if the shot missed the unfortunate animal/bird the smoke and residue gassed them to death.

Nicola.

As a follow-on from my original post and photo's, I still have the offending case and wad if any one should want them as proof etc.

Pictures are enough thanks for giving them.
Was there ever any come back on these? As a novice I was going to go with the Top Ones in 28g 8. As people suggest I should by one and stick with it I was going to pop up to Solware to get a 1000 once I have my SGC and new Silver Pigeon.

Mick - Guns and Tackle sell Fiocchi, they are at Whaplode near Spalding, Lincs. I've used the top one 9's for close targets for several years without a single problem! Great shell at a good price - last lot £155 per 1000.

Yes the problem batch was withdrawn.

Under recommendation I purchased a slab of Fiocchi FBlack in shot size 81/2, I tried these yesterday at a registered sporting shoot, during the shoot I used my Muller Chokes (U2 & U3) & have to say the quality of kills were awesome, even those at good distances. I am rely impressed having never shot Fiocchi before and have to say "When you've tried FBlack you won't go back" Smokin......

FBlack Sporting through U3's does the trick for me; thoroughly impressed from the first time I used them.

Looking forward to trying the FBlack fibres this week at MCSC.
