Local Ground For Local People 🤣

I totally understand why Sunday mornings became the favourite option. Many grounds must have their origins back in the 80's or so. Back then, shops were shut, very little else going on and society was different in working practices. However today everything is different, there are so many other...

Local Ground For Local People 🤣

Why not concentrate on Saturday and forget Sunday then. Round me there must be at least six grounds open on a Sunday, I don't shoot at any. However I travel far and wide at least 3 days per week to shoot at a variety of other grounds on different days.

    Rule changes

Fair point, but brains also learn things as they go along. What happens when your brain learns that releasing the trigger gives you recoil, do you go back to a normal gun

Local Ground For Local People 🤣

One thing all these little grounds seem to have in common is that they believe shooters come out of hibernation at 10am Sunday morning and then by 1pm disappear once more, till the following week The shooting fraternity has got much older and there are many retired around, plus many of the...

    Fibre Wad or Choke change?

I have had a couple of old miroku 3800 and both of them shot far better even patterns with fibre compared to many more modern guns. Back bored guns are far from ideal if you are using fibre in my opinion.

    Fashionable skeet gun

Hi guys, Shot a couple of lines of skeet other week just for fun. Really enjoyed it and definitely going to start doing more. However I seem to remember back in the day short barrels were in vogue. Just wondering what seems to be the most popular gun type these days and what models are...

    Higher visibility front beads ?

Personally, I prefer the small red bead to white. I once tried those long day glow beads but didn't get on with them

Beretta 694 barrel regulation - can it be adjusted?

Regarding those laser cartridges, I bought one . I set the gun up and marked the point where the laser was on a wall about 15 yards away. I then did a second test and rotated the laser in the gun and the point moved. In summary, I would not trust a laser sight

    Fore end grip

The dumpster sometimes appears on a trap line, however they soon get put in their place. All other habits mentioned may irritate some people ,but the dumpster is down right dangerous.

    Mid level Competition cartridge

I look at it this way. There are quite a selection of bottom end cartridges on the market for £275 or less. I have used all the more popular brands in both 24gm and 28 gm. They all smash clays easily if you are on target. The mid range stuff is now selling around or above the £320 Mark. I have...

    ported barrels

Hi Guys I have seen a gun for sale with factory ported barrels. Something I know little about benefits wise. Just wondering if it detracts from the guns value or is it of no consequence. Gun is a perazzi and the porting is factory fitted

East Yorkshire shooting ground to close

Few rumours knocking around that some interest has been shown already in running the ground. I really hope so as the sport would be worse off without a ground of this quality

Another price increase for cartridges at end of January

Well that's something I would vote for. Don't shoot registered anymore at my age I find it too many and more scores drop off on the last 50. If my local grounds offered 50 then I would shoot them. I shoot trap and I don't see a problem running a 50 bird comp alongside the standard 100 bird comp.
