    Hammer it home

Got a nice little number the other day.... 16 guage Tula Toz-63. Not as old as it looks being from the late 60's. This model was an 'exhibition' one. Basically a sales model with all the bells and whistles, good engraving, skip chequring, coin finish and a really good hand finish. Bought as a...

Went and joined the dark side.

Used my BiLs Mossberg 500 over Christmas while out in the states and was reminded just how much fun they are.  Picked up a weatherby PA-08 yesterday at SGC, tidy little number and way less than £300 new.  Despite reveiws saying it's difficult to assemble after breaking down it's really not...

    AYA Yeoman and case

£150 Ono. Aya Yeoman. 1970. Good condition, clean bores and tight action. 28" barrels choked full and half. Double trigger, non ejector but has extractors. Blueing good but thinning. A few surface scratches to the barrels. A few cabinet dinks on the stock but no chips, cracks or repairs. Lots...

    Small Victories

We aren't all out there smashing 98/100 so for us mortals somewhere to record our new modest PB's, conquering the nemesis bird or just finding the best bacon butty would be a good idea. On Saturday I got a new PB of 78/100  including two stands of 10/10. Well chuffed. :D

    New SxS.

After a crappy week at work I treated myself to a new (to me) gun. Picked up a AyA Yeoman for just used £100.... can't wait to try it out! Fortunately have a day off on Monday... Pinched the shops pics, mine are rubbish.

    Countrywide Farmers

Just as a heads up these guys also sell cartridges - they don't advertise this at all though. Seems to be mainly Lyalvale express, but for those of use that don't mind a budget cartridge...   Next time I'm in I will try to get a price list, but I paid £5.30 a box for the English Sporter 28g...

    New car

After the head gasket went on my car (pug 206) last week I decided to go and get something a little nicer. Picked this up today.

    Something new....

I have now come to terms with the fact A&S are unlikely to get my SGC to me by the end of the month. Thus I have turned to retail therapy as a form of solace and want to spend some of the cash I had set aside this month for a gun (approx. £160). I have: 1) Cabinet (obviously) 2) Cleaning...

    Instruction and Coaching Costs

This is more thinking out loud than anything and don't really want to start any bun fights... I have paid about £100 (depends on the amount of clays and cartridges) per lesson so far. Of that the instructors time makes up £50, the rest in clays and cartridges. All 1-1, includes use of gun, get...

    First gun

Not a quite a purchase just yet but while I'm waiting for my sgc to come through put a deposit on this: It's a Laurona sporter, 12 bore single trigger ejector. Now my certificate just needs to make its way out of the black hole in Bristol and onto my doormat!

    Cheap and cheerful cartridges

Hi,  I'm after recomendations for cheap and cheerful cartridges... as a complete newbie there is very little point in spending a fortune as at this stage my hitting a bird is more going to be influenced by my complete lack of skill rather than a cartridges.  Ideally I would like a fibre wad as...

    From Somerset

Hi, Currently living in Somerset and very new to this clay shooting malarkey. Tried it in the US with my BiL and thought it was great fun, came back and had a few lessons and applied for my SGC. Just had my interview which went well, FEO told me to expect my SGC in the post (happy)... sometime...
