Cartridge prices on the way up.

Must be Australian ... before determining "How much can we shaft them this month" been heard to say "They're still buying them!" The cheapest we can get at current conversion is just under £200 per 1000, and just over £200 per 1000 is really the new norm.

    Miroku MK60 as a clay gun ?

I believe 1/4 and 1/2 is bang up for 85% of shooters, then as they improve they can better make use of tighter choking. Mind you, depends what 1/4 and 1/2 actually measure at ... I have a 1/2 and Full gun (Baikal) that measures as 14thou and 32 thou constrictions.

    Miroku MK60 as a clay gun ?

The Mk10 has a vented centre rib (as does the Mk70), but then so has the Mk38 Trap model with 30" barrels, fixed chokes and adjustable comb sold into the Australian market. Likewise the Mk38 Sporter with fixed chokes, but I believe the other Mk38s Trap models are solid rib. Mid year, I'm...

    Miroku TR-1 designation

True it could be, but I've also seen Trap configuration Mk3800s without the designation stamped on the receiver. The number I think definitely identifies grade.

    Miroku TR-1 designation

Anybody have an idea what the 'TR1' designation signified from Miroku? Come across them here in Australia on occasion, but unsure what it means. Usually they're 3800s with 3800 TR-1 stamped underneath. Cheers...

    Miroku Mk11 Uplander

The regular Mk11 is a steel action. The Mk10 update is a handful of months away, but I'm lead to believe it's cosmetics,  not a significant difference with both the Mk10 and Mk11 due for updates. Why do we in Australia see these different Mirokus?  I'm lead to believe there's a significant...

    Miroku Mk11 Uplander

Was made aware yesterday of an interesting new Miroku model in Australia (with updates to the Miroku range a few months away),  available only at selected stores. A Mk11 with the lower frame, but lightweight via the use of an alloy frame I believe. Not aware whether Miroku has marketed an alloy...

    Barrel length

In the colonies of Australia,  we're a bit behind. 20 years ago, it was all 28s, with the odd 30. I tried 30s in a 686 Onyx Sporting and it was a pig of a gun. Fast forward and I'm re-entering Sporting Clays. 30s are everywhere,  and 32s are rare. Our Miroku Mk10s have ventilated barrels, and to...

    Mk38 sporter query

Thank you gents,  Gun is a few hours drive away, so just need to find the time and I'll go look at it in the steel. That is unless the importer can place a straight butt stock on a Mk10 32" gun for me. Thank you all once again for the assistance here and via PM.

    Mk38 sporter query

Guys,  I've located a Mk38 sporter over here in Australia. Gun has 30" tubes, fixed chokes and what the gunshop believes is 1/2-Full chokes. Serial number dates the gun as a 1996 model. At the time, was such a beast made as currently I can only find reference to 1/4-1/2 choked models. Where can...

    Express English Sporters Problems

The bottom barrel issue seems to be about the only one that plagues some Browning/Mirokus. Explanation put to me was that it's to do with the angle the firing pin strikes the primer due to the high action. In Australia, some gunsmiths specialise in both adjustment and replacement of the firing...
