I believe 1/4 and 1/2 is bang up for 85% of shooters, then as they improve they can better make use of tighter choking. Mind you, depends what 1/4 and 1/2 actually measure at ... I have a 1/2 and Full gun (Baikal) that measures as 14thou and 32 thou constrictions.

True it could be, but I've also seen Trap configuration Mk3800s without the designation stamped on the receiver. The number I think definitely identifies grade.

Anybody have an idea what the 'TR1' designation signified from Miroku? Come across them here in Australia on occasion, but unsure what it means. Usually they're 3800s with 3800 TR-1 stamped underneath. Cheers...

Was made aware yesterday of an interesting new Miroku model in Australia (with updates to the Miroku range a few months away),  available only at selected stores. A Mk11 with the lower frame, but lightweight via the use of an alloy frame I believe. Not aware whether Miroku has marketed an alloy...
