Okey dokes.... I wanted to give the forum a first look at the latest news...

I have just got confirmation of our premier sponsor for The ShootClay Cup, I am proud to announce that Blaser have agreed to sponsor the event, with guns worth:

£10,000

Which now means that I have a total prizefund of just under £25,000 - including a top of the line Bremont wristwatch as part of the HIgh Gun Prize.

In talking to the team at Blaser and EJ Churchill, we all feel that we want to make sure that prizes are spread around the shooters attending.

So - at least one of the guns that we have from Blaser will be given as a 'door prize' - that is, I will be drawing back numbers from a hat at the end of the shoot, and the first number out of the hat, who is there at the end of the shoot will be taking home a huge prize.  Just like they did in Dubai... but with less sand.

That is a 1/540 chance of taking home a top of the range shotgun.  Not for scoring the highest, in your class or category - but just for being entered. The High Gun prize is still worth around £5000 in total, and class and category prizes are still near £750/800 worth of cash and article prizes.

Given the latest news - I am reconfiguring the prize allocations a little bit to spread things further, but my advice is this...  get booked on, and get booked on quickly - once this is sold out, it's sold out... remember 1 in 540.

On a personal level - I think this really lands The ShootClay Cup as a signifcant event for sporting shooters, I am trying to create something extra for shooters, with a great atmosphere, top competition and a chance for all shooters to go home happy.

You will see more news and information on this over the coming days - but I hope we'll see everyone sign up for this.

Matt,

Just trying to sort this, how late a start time do you still have available on the Saturday?

If the winner of the door prize has to be there to claim the prize.is this discriminating against Friday shooters?

Tend to agree surely everyone who pays up should be in with a chance I know not great for viewing when someone's not there to collect it but that's not the point is it?

For goodness sake.

The rule for the door prize is you need to be there when drawn, which is probably at the party afterwards.

Now if you chose not to come back....and enjoy the evening with everyone....then that is your choice.

Everyone has choices to make in life. You pay your money you take your choice.

But.....please do not moan or complain about a free prize with the conditions clearly stated.

P.s. 'You' have not 'paid' for the door prize......'you' have 'paid' for a competition entry.

Matt on the other hand has gone out and found some excellent extra prizes, gifts, raffles ....whatever he wants to call them....in order to make this shoot memorable.

His gifts.....his rules....if you do not like it then don't come.....this is going to be a great shoot....and it will be sold out.

Right - lets get this straight.  There is no 'discrimination' against anyone.

Anyone can come back and enjoy the party we're laying on for the Saturday evening,  including hog roast, music, and the prizegiving from the shoot - to boot, if you have been in the shoot, then you could win a very expensive shotgun.  This is pretty standard stuff in tournaments all over the world, and it adds some drama to the event.

Before I added this final sponsor, we had a sporting shoot with a £13/14k payout - there aren't many of those on the calendar - so people are paying £50 for 120 quality targets over 15 stands with a big payout.  Now, with a bit more effort they have a 1/540 chance of winning a Blaser Luxus.  If you can show me anywhere that you can create those odds, I'll be surprised.

I will happily move anyone from Friday to Saturday as long as there are places available - otherwise, I'll welcome you back to the party and hope that your number gets pulled.

Final point - this is a decision taken between myself (the promoter), the ground (the organisers of the shoot) and the sponsors.

As for squads - things are moving so fast, that I haven't had time to get them online - but will do something today.

Actually that is the point, the sponsor wants to be able to hand the gun over in person, take a shed load of photo's and promote the fact someone won a gun FOR FREE!! And it takes is a small effort on the shooters part to be there in person, and as Tinker said, you are paying an entry fee to shoot NOT to win the back number prize draw.

Why not come back on the Saturday evening, food, drinks, live music, about time we started to enjoy ourselves at shoots - all too often shoots are like funerals, full of miserable people!! FFS this is your HOBBY SO ENJOY IT!!

Hog roast yummy I bagsy the ears.

Seriously quite an exciting element to the affair really having the chance of your name being pulled out of the hat for the my level of shooter.

UNFAIR !it can only be due to the people who have travelled a very very  long way, anyway the beer will be warm, the Music will be some unknown techno garbage, and the food will be frozen so don't go,

That's got it down to 1/240 chances and I get 2 goes :girlcrazy:

Hope you are kidding?
The terms are clear.
Whilst in Dubai a well known Shooter "lost" the chance to collect his $70000 truck.
He was pulled out the pot as a winner but had left the ground.
Tough luck.
If you want to be in for the chance of a free Blaser shotgun drive back.
It's very simple.
You never know you might enjoy the party and hospitality provided by the organiser and hosts even if you don't win.
