I’m 6’3”. Just too high.

Is it me or do others find the same?
Not just you, a lot of tall or long limbed long necked shooters find the same.
It’s not just the height of the comb that helps but also a higher rib to keep your head up more. It’s a much more natural head position for those of us taller than the average the guns were designed for.
Don’t know what gun you’re shooting or looking at but check out some adjustable comb higher rib guns and see how they feel when adjusted to you.

Monte-Carlo also helps position the butt lower in the shoulder pocket for better recoil absorption. Im 6'2" and used to shoot a standard adjustable, even that didnt work. Now i have a monte-carlo the gun sits lower, there is less recoil and my head isnt as far down for a more comfortable shooting position. I have a MK38 Adjustable Stock with a lower pad at the back to create a poor mans monte-carlo. I'll see Manuel next year to make it less Frankenstein.

With my semi auto Beretta Xtreme Plus, I’ve shimmed all the way down and the higher rib gives me a decent view down the rib. About right.

I’m just a shooter - not a stock fitter or internet expert - so here’s my experience for what it’s worth. I’m in that “normal” range that factory straight stocks are supposed to be built for (5’ 10” and 195ish pounds), however have a near impossible time finding a gun that fits off the rack.

Several coaches have commented that I have a long neck and sloping shoulders, so I guess that’s part of it. Two professional gun fitters/stock makers have put me in a Monte Carlo and it feels much better in both POA and recoil. The Country Gentleman (USA) and Manuel Ricardo.

In my limited experience, need for Monte Carlo/high rib has less to do with height but with neck/shoulder/cheek bone dimensions and discomfort. I shoot with several guys well over 6’ (more proportional than I) who are very comfortable with lengthened straight stocks

Echo above, I wish I was short and stumpy. Nothing fits off rack and it’s all so bloody short and low.
