One of the reasons why I practically gave up doing Sunday fixtures was I could not justify to family spending 4hrs plus crawling round a shoot. One broken trap and before you knew it you were in a queue 25 deep. Apart form the aggravation of having to wait I would loose all concentration. I am a...
The number of guns you need can be expressed as the mathematical formula:
“N+1” = number of guns needed,
Where n is the number of guns you currently have!🤣😂
Shot Churchill’s late afternoon yesterday, so unfortunately ran into the thunder, lighting and torrential rain. Nice set of targets apparently set by Mr Digweed, although noticed Jamie Peckham from Promatic lurking. Don’t know if he was assisting but certainly had his stamp on them. Apart from...
Same here, put 75 carts through one, fixed comb. Must say was amazed at the quality of the gun considering its priced at about £1500! Excellent wood, which comes as standard. Wood to metal fit again excellent. It handled very well and was nicely balanced, maybe a tab towards the barrel, which is...
Other way round for me. Bought Blaser F3 with 32inch barrels. Great for long stuff but felt I could not get on to closer targets as quick as with 30inch. Also did not like the balance.
As luck would have it, the shop I bought it from, Chris Potters in Kent, had a spotless set of 30inch barrels...
And long may it continue. I used to do all my local Sunday shoots, Horne, Keston, Caterham (which is no more) and the odd venture to Southdown. The one thing that is still engraved on my mind was the endless waiting on stands! Get a break down or stuck behind a big group and and half an hour...
Think both the white and black Onyx were recently relaunched by Beretta. I presume as an effort to clear their old 686 stock with the arrival of the 690 series. Funny enough looked at one the other day, they have a couple of new ones in the West London Gun Room. Not sure if they are game or...
Shot the Classic today. Weather was almost perfect with just a little mist in the morning and practicality no wind. By the afternoon it had brightened up nicely but no issues with sun. Did not seemed to be that many shooting today, at a rough guess probably about a 100 shooters. Certainly a lot...
It was on face book this afternoon on the "We Shoot UK" page.
Forgot to press paste..........
"We are pleased to announce that Barrow Sporting Clays will be opening in 2018 for CPSA registered shoots. Our first shoot will be held on Sunday 4th March 2018, where we very much look forward to...
Funny enough saw a bloke at Bisley few weeks back who was on a motorcycle. He had a backpack designed for carrying a tennis racket. It was fully padded and the bit where the racket handle went was perfect for gun barrels. Big advantage was it looked like sports gear and not gun case.
Court Farm, 11 stands with 5/6 of them facing a low winter sun (may have time we shot it). Targets freaquenly wind effected. Numerous referees who appeared to be no more than 15 yrs of age and no idea what they were doing. Car park no go area apart from 4x4s. Lost will to live after a few...
Agree with Mr Hewland about the edge on stuff. Would further add, that with the summer we have had and the grass already turning brown/yellow, I find it exceedingly hard to pick up edge on, orange clays on such a background. The grouse butt right to left being an example and indeed the fast...
