    Fiocchi Litespeed 26g

Has anyone seen/tried these? Saw them at a local gun shop and was curious. I tend to either shoot fBlacks or TTOnes; these are claimed to be the same speed as fBlacks, but similar price to TTOnes (although this is obviously in part due to them being 26g as opposed to 28g)... Will pick some up...

Cartridge Advice for First Time Game

Hi All, I'm doing a couple of days of walk-up shooting in Scotland in December. It's my first time, so looking for some advice on cartridges. I'm assuming I need somewhere in the 28-32 gram range and 5 or 6 shot size, but not at all sure exactly what to go for (I'd much prefer a single...

    Beretta 687 Game Question

Hi All, I'm doing my first game shoot in December, so have been practicing on the clays with my wife's 687 game as my mk38 is too heavy to use for walk-up. Just wondering if anyone could shed a bit of light on what the "L" engraved on the trigger guard stands for. I've read claims for both...

DTL - Hit with 1st Barrel, fire 2nd anyway

Hi All, Having a go at DTL tomorrow (100 sporting and 25 DTL shoot) In DTL, how would it be scored if you hit with your first barrel, but proceeded to fire the 2nd anyway?  Presumably as a 2nd barrel kill? Also, do any adjustments need to be made for using a sporting gun? Thanks

    mk38 Wood Oiling

Hi All, I have had my mk38 sporter Grade 1 for about a year (my first gun) and I feel I shoot with it very well. What I'm not a fan of is the varnish finish, which looks pretty bad, especially with a few scratches. Can anyone advise roughly how much it would cost to get the varnish removed...

    Winter Clay Shooting Attire

Hi All, I only started shooting in April and purchased an inexpensive Seeland vest that, whilst it does the job, is rather too hot for comfort in the summer (or at least this summer). With some more moderate weather gracing us over the last couple of weeks, my mind has, however, turned to clay...

    Long Range Teal

Hi All, After receiving some good advice on a previous target I was struggling with, I thought I'd ask about another. The target was in the latest layout at AGL so I'm sure (from the 2018 shoots thread) several on here will have shot it. It was a straight up/straight down teal, just at fairly...

    High Quartering Crosser

Hi All, I've made good progress with my shooting of late, but, for the life of me, I can't work out a certain target. It's a R/L crosser thrown from a tower that also quarters towards the shooter, so it's a mixture of a high driven and a crosser. Without seeing the target, I appreciate that...

    Sunshine

Hi All, Shooting at my local ground over the last few (glorious) weekends has highlighted a bit of a problem/question, the sun. I'm not shooting competitions yet, but as I shoot various stands, some have been unshootable due to the sun being directly in the field of view. What happens in...

    mk38 Alternatives

Hi All, At some stage in the not too distant future, I'd like to part-ex my (first) gun for something a bit nicer. I have a Miroku mk38 grade 1, with the (not very attractive) varnish finish. I love how the gun shoots, however, so the obvious option is to go for a nice, s/h, grade 5 version...

Alternative to Rio Target Load 28g Fibre

Hi All, Fairly new to shooting (shooting sporting at present) and I've been happy using  fibre wad Rio Target Load in 24g. However, I can't easily purchase these locally, so am looking for an alternative. I've also gone though a couple of slabs of Fiocchi fBlacks sporting in 28g fibre and...
