    20G Choke size for Skeet?

I have just purchased a 20G 2005 Browning MK70 to use for skeet. I understand that 20G needs less choke than a 12G. What chokes would members recommend, Super Cylinder, True Cylinder or Skeet, or a mixture? This is only for skeet

    Skeet chokes

I am assuming for this thread that the average impact distance is 20 yards and shot is no. 9 Can anyone tell me the % of pellets in a 24” circle, at above spec, with CYL v Skeet chokes? The 24” is arbitrary and members may feel it should be larger, I am working on half the max lead ever needed...

    Cartridge speed ? Significant

I read an article on ballistics with the following stats: Shot from a 1200 fps cartridge no9 will reach 22 yards in 0.072 secs and be travelling at 740 fps Shot from a 1300 fps cartridge no9 will reach 22 yards in 0.069 secs and be travelling at 772 fps This would indicate a difference of...

Lead Shot Ban, in news again

    Choke Choice

Thanks for all your replies, it seems 1/2 & 1/2 is about right for Sporting and 3/8 & 1/2 for club DTL. However speed is mentioned as are cartidge loads, I will use 24gm with 7.5 shot but speed seems irrelevant, at 60 feet the difference between 1350 and 1550 fps is 0.01 sec. Surely no...

    Choke Choice

I currently only shoot skeet with two skeet guns fixed choked at SK/SK & CYL/CYL, noticing no real difference between either. I want to start Sporting and Trap and watched a very interesting video by Ben Husthwaite on choke selection, he ended by saying 1/2 & 1/2 were the best choice for...

    Oil v grease

I am sure this has been discussed before but as a newcomer any advice is welcome, everyone on YouTube has a different opinion. What is the ‘best’ barrel cleaner, I was told to use Phillips, I have also read that any oil, including Castrol, Ballistol and Vaseline with 3in1 mixed in are adequate...

Suggestions for earmuffs or ear plugs for sporting clays

I use SureFire EP10 plugs and find them very comfortable and efficient. Not sure how much they reduce noise but the difference is very noticeable when removed and someone shoots. On Amazon and not expensive
